Maybe I have read that wrong you know the bit where the sheet says 'Jobcentre Plus require each customer to complete a job search log for ALL job search activity and bring this each time you attend'
.
But a log is just a posh way of saying write down a few notes on what you have done, it does not specify on what you need to write these down on.0 -
Here you go please tell me where it says evidence has to be provided in writing at your signing. It says to provide information not in which manner that info needs to be provided
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1996/207/regulation/24/made
I used that to escape a sanction a while back as the advisor didn't take into account verbal representation - though wouldn't have stood anyway as I had way exceeded all aspects of the Job Seekers Agreement.
AP007, local rules do not supersede the legislation that CSMW has linked to.0 -
If you have to sign on daily then EVERYDAY is 'on cycle' isn't it? Therefore, no travel fees?
They call it daily signing but effectively you only sign the day that your national insurance number denotes.
Travel fees will be payable, It's one of the 1st things we asked when we got told that this was what was planned. But again it may vary slightly office to office on how they are going to enforce it.0 -

Or course when I run out of the sheet (they only let me have 2 or 3 at most) I use a sheet of paper and write a chart on it like on the sheet with the same headings. We’ve had to remove your signature. Another of Dimwit's not so bright ideas, That's means my 59 year old neighbour is going to have spend more than 25 hours a week on buses or waiting for buses. I would not be surprised that by some underhanded slight of hand, that travel costs will not be refunded. Leaving him with the bus fare bill of £45 a week to pay.
There are 6.5 million people fighting for less than 500,000 jobs most of which are part time. You can not fit a pint into a quart. Even if Dimwit thinks he can.0 -

The way I see it is if a customer has done it, they will be able to tell you.
Sometimes I get referred customers for dma action who have 4/5 things written down but when you ask the right questions they give you loads of info. so no need for a referral to the DM just a bit of guidance abort what info we require0 -
That sheet is local to your office,.
That is an interesting point, my local office make me record my search on UJM. I don't mind, it is actually easier, I can cut and paste rather than have to manually write everything down.
However if I were to disregard that and brought my search in on a piece of paper I wonder if they would sanction me? before this thread how would I now that I didn't have to record via UJM as that is what I was told, therefore I wouldn't be able dispute the sanction and it would probably stand.
I am not getting at you personally csmw, just pointing out how these regional variations can seem very unfair.0 -

I agree totally that the variations make it extremely difficult for people.
I always say if your unsure what an advisor is saying to you is correct ask them to show you guidance.
unfortunately like any company there are some bad, some good
but the decision to sanction doesn't sit with the advisor. Even though some like to think it does.0 -
but the decision to sanction doesn't sit with the advisor.
I appreciate it doesn't but where does the decision marker work from? If they work from the same office as the advisor who is handing out the referral, then the case is stacked against the job seekers as there is no 'independent' person looking at it. The decision marker will be following the same local rule as the advisors, in this case 'you must use the UJM to record your search'0
