Why exactly should I not love my job,?? because part of it is to refer people to a decision maker for not doing what they have agreed to do.
Sorry but people need to stop thinking that JSA is some god given right when its not, not everybody who signs on is genuine.
My time is better spent trying to help those that need and want help but unfortunately its taken up by those who think they can play the system, those who think they can spit at, punch, swear and be racial to advisors for telling them things they don't want to hear.
I'm not going to apologise for loving my job, I like helping people. I've been an adviser for over 10 years in both private and public sector and will always go out my way to help people, but unfortunately part of my job is also to enforce government rules... not my own made up rules those that are set in legislation0 -
I've not read much of the posts, but regarding the arguments i've read over the last few pages, I agree with this.
There is no need for the animosity just because of where she works. Unfortunately people will always have this frame of mind to anyone at the JCP, regardless of whether they are being helpful or not.
She is doing a job, and as much as she may agree or disagree with procedures or rules, people talk like she has the power to change something because you don't like it, like she is the punching bag for the entire JCP organisation. It's easy to say someone is a drone who just does everything without question, sometimes you have no option unless you want to be out of work too.
Give her a break, she's helping you with any questions you may have in her own time.
I can see why there are so many bad advisors in JCP as the attacks that I am receiving on here for trying to be helpful are only the tip of what we actually have to deal with at work. It's like dealing with a bunch of playground bullys.
A few years ago we were all labour drones now we are Tory drones it's all just a little pathetic0 -
Ok ok I'm wrong, customer don't turn up to my jobcentre in audi Q7's, BMW X5's and Range evoques. its just a figment of my imagination.
If any do, what are all the real facts, you certainly don't know, they will be exceptionally rare cases.
This is sort of exaggerated dangerous nonsense used to promulgate myths against benefits & welfare.
Maybe someone is driving their slaves who work for them to sign-on.0 -

As I said before when you were busy trying to insult me.

There will be bad advisers, i've met some (the ones who haven't got a clue how to write a CV correctly, but thought they did), but there are good ones too.
I think these forums need a little more balance, because you never hear good stories about advisers, even though I have more good than bad personally. When I'm out of work, I do what I agreed to do and more, because I don't care, I just want to get back in to work, I'm not fussy, I need to earn and will worry about that career move after I'm earning again. If more posters had that attitude, they wouldn't have these bad stories to tell because they wouldn't give the adviser a reason to complain.
Unfortunately, the internet is notoriously good as a place to come and complain, yet good things are overlooked and overshadowed by the amount of bad posted. People rarely come on the internet to praise.
The stories I've heard on this forum, they don't surprise me, but I put that down to the posters attitude towards their adviser, too. There is always more to the 'holier than thou' attitude some posters have about JCP advisers, of course the posters will have a hugely bias view of events.
I don't agree on a personal level about the cars thing, in some instances people could have been made redundant from a high paying job and don't save anything (my Dad saves little, if nothing, but is paid a hell of a lot of money, if he were to be made redundant, he'd have no option but to claim, but has a fancy car), hence having a fancy expensive car and hence having to claim, not necessarily that they are playing the system. But hey, no-one agrees on everything.Professional Data Monkey

No I totally agree maybe the way I put it across was incorrect, there are genuine people like that. I was simply trying to make a point but no matter what I say on here it will just be attacked and that is purely based on my job title0 -

I can see it being read as a generalisation that everyone with a fancy car and signs on is a benefit cheat. It's all about putting things in to context, really. Sometimes you just have to spell things out, this is the internet after all, context is harder to read or pick up on.Professional Data Monkey

Hi guys. I'm new to this thread and tried to go through looking for answers but didn't really see anything.
Does anyone know what happens after the work programme? I just finished this week and the people i saw at the 'place' didn't know what happens next. They just said rumour this or rumour that etc;
Some say you have to go and sign on every single day, is this true? if so how would this work exactly? If you were to attend the job centre every day it's 1. A waste of my time but also 2. a waste of petrol.
I always thought you'd just go and sign on again like normal after.0 -
No I believe what is correct...not everybody that signs on deserves it, not everybody that signs on is looking for work.0
