Was told at the JC today they are going to start asking everyone if they have a UJM account. Asking for peoples email address that they have signed up with to check (not sure how they do this)

Also that they CAN NOT make you give them access I overheard them say to the girl in front of me.

I now have set up an account but a few thing..............

1 - There is nowhere for a cover letter to be added
2 - CV losses ALL format when loaded
3 - No application history for jobs applied for on other sites
4 - No history of your search activity

Also for the people who have accounts. When you apply to a job direct on the site how does your CV get sent to the employer?

Is it like LinkedIn where they just see your profile or they get a copy of the CV you have loaded at the time?

I ask this as you would have maybe 2 different CV's that you may want to use so if they just see your profile they could get the wrong CV.
they put your email into a search engine and it tells them whether you are registered. you cant just give the email of a person you know is registered either because in the results it gives them the name of the person registered with that email. i have been asked a couple of times.
a negative is that it doesnt record everything you do but it does record applications that you hit the apply button for. below that is activity history which again doesnt record everything you have done.
they wont get the wrong cv. you can upload more than one cv and you select which cv they get when you apply.

The things is most jobs will never show in application history as they are on a 3rd party site not the UJM. Once you hit apply you are not on the UJM site.
if you want to ensure it demonstrates you are doing something then actively look for the jobs that have an apply button.

Yes jobs with the apply button also take you to 3rd part sites so not recorded on the UJM account at all. That demonstrates nothing as they will never see it if they looked on your account.

After all aren't the advisors telling people if you apply for jobs via a UJM account you wont need to write jobs down? Oh how they have got that wrong as they have no clue.

but it does record applications that you hit the apply button for. below that is activity history which again doesnt record everything you have done..

Only ones that go via UJM - If you hit apply and it takes you off to another site this job is not added to application history as the job is NOT advertised on the UJM only a link is that you get via the apply button.

I have looked at over 20 jobs and none show in activity history either.

So like have said the ones that DO take you to a 3rd party site are NOT registered on your account as a job you have applied for or anything at all

In my experience nearly all the jobs have an apply button but only a few go via the UJM site, the majority are 3rd party sites. I only normally get one or two that are recorded/applied for on UJM in a two week period. I don't blame employers for not using it, who just wants to get a load of CVs? If were an employer I would want to be reading covering letters as well.

For those people on here who have finished the work programme and started (Post Work Programme Support) have any of you had any sanctions yet to your JSA?

Most of you know that I have appointment on Tuesday 26th of November for the Post work Programme Support as I finished work programme however I am nervous because I am worried what my advisor will ask me to do and if he is going to be nasty to me :(

Because when I signed on yesturday, advisor told me its going to get tough now but she also said I will get more help.

Is it any tough for you now? or is it still the same as before you on the work programme? :)

Mine is obsessed with the sanctions and keeps changing the rules onme eg how to record jobsearch but she is a petty vindictive failure of a bully
    There's been zero support
It's all one size fits all nonsense
