I only have a problem with threads that have only just been posted
for some reason they don't show up if they are very new threads
but the ones you've posted today that heve already been posted came up on the search for me just by putting in 'cerruti' or 'straighteners'
    so dunno

not a newbie now: but still be gentle with me ;)

There seems to be a problem when the thing you are searching for is formatted in the post in some way.

    eg. Hello

I think that if you search for 'Hello' it would sometimes read the above as
[ b]Hello[/b ] and decide that it's not the same word

I've seen that happen a few times - but not always

Might be worth putting a star before and after the word (e.g. *Hello*) so that bits of formatting are included - if that makes sense

Try typing "Madeira" or "Budapest" into the Search facility of these forums. No results returned.

That can't be right surely, as the Travel boards have loads of Budapest threads. Am I missing something obvious?

It is very odd - I often try a search for things I have definitely read on here, and it comes back "No results". Thought it was just me! Very frustrating, though.

    search using drop-down search box
    0 results

    search using advanced search
    0 results

    search using google
    2 results
