Not sure if you can use marrow as a replacement for courgette, but there's a good recipe on 'BBC good food' website courgette-lemon-and-chilli-tagliatelle

If dried milk is a NO NO what about freezing milk when i have been lucky enough to have got reduced milk and room in the freezer you just take a cup of milk outk for expansion
Thanks for the suggestions. I drink the s/s for the calcium and wonder if anyone knows about the comparative calcium in dried milk.
I managed another NSD today and also had a 'free' day as at a meeting with free tea and a buffet lunch. Just had to have hm spicy bean soup and fruit with yogurt for tea. Win win:rotfl:£10day.2014=3213/2015=3421/2016=3238/2017=2702/2018=498..APR=12.03/300

Real milk (semi-skimmed) said 122mg of calcium per 100ml, so it is approximately the same in both. (1280mg/litre compared to 1220mg/litre).Extra money made jun 19: £16.07

I did another Ald* shop today. OH was with me and we spent a bit more than I would normally do on crisps, sweets and chocolate. Oh well, I think we are still on target. I spent £59.54, which takes me to £108.95 this month. I do have lots of protein in the freezer, meat, fish, etc which will take me through for more than next week and I think I'll only need fruit, veg and bread etc for a couple of weeks now. I may have to be careful for the rest of the month if I'm to keep to my target.
I made soup and flapjack today so using up existing fridge & cupboard stocks instead of buying more.
I have been using a mixture of dried skimmed milk for cereals and cooking as well as semi-skimmed for tea and coffee. It works for me because I prefer the taste of skimmed but my family don't like it. They call it blue milk because it has that transparent look to it.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Had planned on a NSD but was bored so wandered into town to pick up a few bits so that I can just get a few more bits tomorrow as it's much easier to carry 2 small lots of shopping home rather than one big lot!
So a little spend of £3.12 today on 6 loo rolls, 6 kitchen rolls, some paracetamol and a multipack of crisps (8 packs) to have as a treat throughout the week, IF I can resist munching my way through the whole lot tomorrow!!! :rotfl:
Need to pop to Wilkin$ons tomorrow as Sanex deodarant is reduced to 90p and I have 2 vouchers for 50p off so will get 2 of them for less than the price of 1!!That should mean I won't need to buy any more toiletries for the rest of the month, and with the loo and kitchen roll from today, I don't think I will need any more household/cleaning type stuff either!!! Woohoo!!! :j

I'm up to £147.21, and only on 7 of the month, but shouldn't need to spend much next week so it will be back in line by next weekend. It does include some non-food items, and the fortnightly milkman's bills, though.
Made 2 huge mixed fruit crumbles, had to buy 3 cooking apples, but had some others, plus pears and brambles, to add in. Also made some scones, froze half for next week's pack ups, and plan to bake some savoury stuff tomorrow for pack ups and Mon/Tues lunch for me and DD.
Had 1 NSD this week, first for a while, so am pleased with that!

My September spend is £128.03 out of my £300 budget. Last count I had 23 potential meals in my freezer and store cupboard inventory, so could get away with just top ups for the rest of the month. Not sure it'll work out exactly like that though.January GC 299/300

So spent £62.46 in the first week. At least it's under £10/day. Will see if we can do a bit better next week.
My girlfriend has been given an enormous marrow from someone who grows them, and we fully intend to use it, but we have no clue what we can do with it... Any ideas? Marrow sandwiches?
I'm sure you can roast marrow and stuff it with other veg. I would just google marrow re ipes for a few more ideas though.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 Sep £160.48/£150 Oct £/£160 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
