Stayed in today to do some cooking and some pre -course work as course starts 21st so it was a NSD :j

Made our 'luxury meal of the week' (which we usually have at week-end but himself working away this week-end) so will eat it tomorrow. Am cooking a Hairy Bik*rs recipe for stuffed pork loin - but only one loin cut in half just for us two. Should do 2x2 meals but took me absolutely ages to prepare ! Now looks quite good though residing in the fridge. Also made an oxtail stew which is on low in the slow cooker overnight. :money:
Hope you all doing well !!

  • Another £69.24 spent yesterday :(
This months money and food seems to be disappearing very quickly.
I did get a tub of baby formular (£10.45) and enough nappies for 2 yr old for 3 weeks (£10) and I have enough nappies for 4 month old (Yes, 4 months allready! Wow! Time has flown) to last 3 weeks as well left from last week.
Also got 2 x new bottles for baby, 4 x larger freezing containers, food for partner to take away with him next week for his course, and food to feed my family (mum, sister, 3 brothers, sis in law and niece) on Sunday for a buffet style tea, just need bread to go with it.
Also, should only need milk for next week as me and 2 yr old will live on what we have in storecupboard and freezer.
Then it is holiday on 16th-20th, which I hope to have at least £50 left in budget for. :)

Will have NSD today and tomorrow, then £2.50 Friday for toddlers (where have the summer holidays gone allready!) - i take this from grocery as I have no other money left for a seperate budget.

Then get bread and milk saturday and then hope to have lots more NSD's next week.

Lasagne for dinner tonight, with 2 extra portions for freezer for partner to take away with him, and 2 more for freezer for me and 2 yr old nxt week. Also, baby boy has just started weaning and his loving his food at the moment, which is great fun, and I am sorting out meals for him in batches too. (same as what we eat, but he can't eat everything we eat, so have some batches in the freezer).

Have a good day everybody.

    Planning a NSD today :)

Have got everything ready for packed lunches for Thurs and Fri (kids back at school). I will get a better view of how much the packed lunches costs next week when they have their first full week back.
I bought some small plastic bowls (12 for £1) and a big packet of pretzels to last the week. I'll just decant some into the bowls daily and that'll be cheaper than a whole packet of crisps everyday. Saving money AND feeding my child healthier ;)

Doing an online shop when i get home from work later. I have a £5 off a £40 shop, so that'll cover the delivery charge.
  • Hello! I am late in joining this month as just back from honeymoon.. :):)
    Hope you are all well!

Please put me down for £200 to last until Fri 27th payday

    Thankyou!!

  • NSD 5/7 for me today (small pat on the back)

Got rid of WW yesterday and starting to just eat healthy so see how it goes. Also using MyFitnessPal to keep a blog as it really helps me on here with finances so hopefully will do the same with eating.

Got a £5 off an online Mr T's shop plus I now have my delivery saver so will get a shop delivered for this Sunday after camp and bulk up so that hopefully next two weekends I just need some fresh stuff. Am going to do some vague meal plans over the next couple of days so that I can make sure my Mr T's shop is relevant rather than just buying same old stuff! Neightbour down the road is selling bags of 10 apples for £1 which is much better so will get those off of her.

Also desperately trying to find a recipe I saw the other day and can't now find which uses up meat fat from roasts etc to make dog bake things. If I can't find it I shall guess and play! Got Monday off so will be doing some baking and the like, and probably do some batch cooking for the freezer too.

    *toddles off to search meals*

    Love x

  • Morning! Query for you all. I am happy using out of date 'stuff' but have never really used creamed coconut. Just used the one sachet & the rest of the box has been sitting in my cupboard ever since! Found a recipe for my leftover chicken for tonight's dinner & it calls for a sachet of creamed coconut! The expiry date is 28 March 2013. Am I ok to use or is there something that will have gone off?

    Many thanks

It should be fine but taste a little bit first, sometimes it can taste very bitter when old.
