NSD today. I did spend in co*p on YS fruit pot, sandwich and wotsits for me and ds2 to share while we were out and about but that will be out of general budget not groceries. Got my mrA shop coming in the morning. Excited. Fridge is looking anaemic.January Grocery challenge - £165.31/£3500

First spends of the month £1.48
Grand daughter came today and she wanted to bake so we ended up doing chocolate chip bars which she then said she was taking home and selling! We tied them in bundles of 4 and she sold 6 bundles for 10p each which has now gone into her money box. Martin would be proud of our budding 7 year old entrepreneur :money:

Laptop still poorly but hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. My meal plan and budgets are all on it on an Excel spreadsheet which means I am winging it at the moment. Despite backing up to a memory stick its no use when you only have an eye pad - there's no slot

Didn't spend any real money today, but I did open the new bottle of hair conditioner I got at the weekend, so will add the £2 that it cost to my spends.
Cooked some of the pasta that my friend gave me and mixed it with the leftover bolognaise from yesterday. I'm really making this bolognaise stretch!! It did 2 meals yesterday, 2 today and there is enough for 2 more tomorrow, and that's only half of it!! The rest is in the freezer for next week! :j
I've hunted out all the sachets and mini shower gel/bubble bath/moisturiser etc and used them to top up the hand wash (cheap bubble bath really!!) in the kitchen and bathroom so now I won't need to buy any more for another couple of weeks.
Loving this challenge so far, although it is going to get a lot harder as supplies get used up. Ah well, it will all be worth it in the end!!:ADFW Nerd 145

Following on from my idea yesterday to pop into my local One Stop for reductions, went at lunchtime there was chicken breast at 2.00 for 400grms which I thought was quite good but I didnt really need it so didnt buy. I thought I would go back later to see if its reduced further
and have just been and Yes same packs for 1.00, there are 3 reasonable sized breasts.
So have bought 3 packs 3.00 spend for today then, So 9 chicken breasts for 3.00 is 33p each and since I have been trying to cut down on meat I can make 1 breast do 2 meals thats 18 potential meals 3.00 divided by 18 is around 17p. Cheaper than chips I think.
I went in my local (express) supermarket this morning to buy a fruit pot but they didn't have any so my money stayed in my pocket. :money: I did notice though that reductions are done at the beginning of the day but not much off and likewise come lunchtime, still the same price reduction. Will have to pop in after work and see if the price has dropped to grab and run price !
Sadly my spends today increased from 32p for my bag of pasta as we got invited to a last minute bbq but I stayed sensible and only bought what was on offer and just what we would eat. I think our evening out cost less than £8 - and we had a lovely time so worth the expense. I suppose I should invent a budget for this !!0 -
spent 13.25 in M and S ,salad and fruit, which was the same price as sainsburys, but better quality, need to hold back spending, and use what i have in cupboard. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0
