  • Husband went shopping for me yesterday and only bought what I'd asked - muller light yogurts and a pint of milk. So we now have £1.95 to last until Tuesday.
Going to a cheap farm shop today with October's budget to stock up ready for next month :-)

  • I'm declaring at £210.83 for September, little bit over but still pleased at effort made, only spent £130 on groceries last month so my average figure of £200 a month is still doing ok.

I'm still hunting for YS bargains where I can, shopping at Sains and buying Basics range, got big tub of vanilla ice cream for 50p yesterday and Basics soft cheese is 73p and lovely and creamy.

I do think Asda and Aldi would be cheaper for some (most?) things, time is limited to shop around but I think I should make the effort, nectar points make all the difference for me (knocked £5 off shopping yesterday) but they don't just come from shopping at Sains so I think more planning is called for.

I failed this month. Stopped counting about half way through and went way over budget. New month started on Thursday for me, I am determined to stick to it this month. See you all on the October thread.

  • Final spend for September - have come in on £200.46/£200. Since this is my first attempt and I ended up spending a fair amount in the first few weeks while staying away from home, I'm pretty happy with this. Also, I got a full week's shop today and obviously September ends on Monday. Going to aim for £180 next month.
