Declaring at £3.36 over budget this month. Pretty pleased with that as I'm sure I was spending more than that before. See you over in October, 5 week month for me so I'll be there a while.

Right, Mr T shop now also done. Stupidly busy day and I'm so glad to be back home and snuggled on the sofa in my PJs and a jumper

Spends in Mr T were £20.59 but we had a £3.28 price match voucher so total spend was £17.31. A few treats in there for the boys but mostly bits to see us through this week (I should add here that we have batch cooked stuff, meat, bread, and other stuff already in so this was just a top up really)

    Off to update sig now

Took mum shopping today, her first time out since she fell. Luckily for a Saturday it wasn't too busy. I spent £27.41 in total. Tomorrow will be a NSD but will want a few bits on Monday before I declare.
Have two of the three grand children on Tuesday due to strike action so they are making pizza's for their lunch. One will only eat cheese & tomato but the other one has requested bacon, chorizo, mushrooms, peppers, extra cheese and a rocket salad to go with it !!! Have everything in except the peppers and rocket.

Trying again in October, its all a learning curve :-)

  • I only went into lidl for diet Pepsi and £34 something later I escaped! I got loads of stuff for packed lunches next week as I'm on sandwich making duty. Hubby usually gives everyone ham sandwiches on plastic bread but not me lol. He won't know what's hit him, even the kids can tell when it's me on duty. We've gone over budget by £11.65 but our month ends on Thursday so I'm pleased with that. By comparison to previous spends pre GC we've saved about £70 this month and as I've said before that included a party and a coffee morning. I've done my meal plan for next month too and reduced my budget by £100 as no parties etc planned. I've cleared out the freezers and we now have space ready to buy Christmas bits on a weekly basis x

  • Will try that method for peeling onions without having the tears, thanks meg72.

I spent about forty pounds in helldee last night ...only nipped in for a couple of things :(

Today was treated to a lovely lunch of salmon, new potatoes, asparagus and broccolli spears. Delicious.

Must try harder not to spend, and not just on groceries.

    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!

Gosh - nearly the end of the month already

Sorry not been on but was really busy this week but still kept score.

    Went shopping Home Barg = £ 3.97 Poundl*nd = £ 2.00
    Mr T = £26.09 A*di = £16.78

    Total = £ 48.84

We are now quite well-stocked on most things but pleased as saved £ 11.82 at Mr T with multi-buys and tokens and £ 1.25 at Poundl*nd with a voucher from paper (Paper cost 75p - voucher for £2). Not counting as money made as taking it off GC.

Had another NSD and hopefully Sunday too.

Have amended my totals and should finish under budget :j
It has really been helpful in my first month on here reading all the comments and tips and having to watch the pennies or own up to over-spending.

Hope you all having a good weekend. I'm having a cook-in tomorrow to clear fridge and doing some course work
