No grocery spends today. The adult kids ate the substantial leftover quorn korma curry from last night. I had some jacket spuds, salad and cheese.
These photos of meals have given me the munchies all over again....could just eat a piece of quiche, i like it best when chilled. Think i will make one soon, maybe i will try using the egg replacer i bought for DD to use.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
Well another NSD here as I haven't stopped baking all day so no chance of getting out as I've been chained to a stove. It's for a good cause so I don't mind. I can't believe that this month we still have £22 something left of our budget to last us until Thursday and all we really need is bread (if I don't get chance to make any) and milk. This month's budget included a party, so buffet & drink for 18, which was planned and then stuff for my coffee morning, which wasn't planned and yet our spends are similar to last month. What the heck did we buy last month is what I want to know??? I'm hoping to spend a considerable amount less next month and be more creative with what we've got and stick to a weekly budget rather than spend it all in the first two weeks lol then spend the next two weeks going way over budget! I'm my own worst enemy as I love watching cookery programmes and trying all the different recipes and it soon adds up. Another thing I've noticed is I have a stock piling mentality. We may have 6 tins of tuna in the cupboard say, so technically we don't need to buy anymore but as soon as we use a tin, it goes on my list to replace. Does anyone else suffer from this strange affliction???

Should make my £60 budget target for the week.
This might inspire me to reduce my October budget. :-) but baby steps first as I don't want to set myself up for a fail.
Oh no! My OH went shopping today and blow the whole grocery budget.
He spent £57.51. (Ale was £14.56, Wine for me £7.62, treat for him £2.95, bacon £5.21, other grocery bits and bobs = 27.17). He only went out for the bacon!! :rotfl:'If you are not in the 'arena' also getting your a55 kicked then, I'm not interested in your feedback.' Thank you.0 -

^ He did go a bit wild in the farm shop. I'm not mad because other than his treat he honestly thought that he was buying stuff that I wanted. Unfortunately, I didn't need it.
Next time I'll go with him.
Just finished totting everything up. Overspend of £41.96. Not worried too much because without the use of this forum keeping me accountable, it would have been higher.
Thanks Guys for this forum it has been very helpful. See you all in the Oct forum.
Note to self:
Target for Oct is £265 and it's non-negotiable.
The goal is to spend £60 pw and this can be flexible to help meet Oct target.'If you are not in the 'arena' also getting your a55 kicked then, I'm not interested in your feedback.' Thank you.0 -
