Problem Neighbour. Thoughts?

What a fruit loop. ye i'd contact social services. in the mean time contact the council, and try get an injunction against the neighbour. if she breaches that she'll be in contempt of court.
I'm going to call the council first thing to lodge my complaint. The thing is, the police said that the council are almost facilitating her behaviour by launching these complaints every time she calls.0 -

Councils don't give out injunctions. And to get one, someone would need to go to court and it seems like none of this is at that stage yet. My mum is currently being harassed by a neighbour who keeps reporting her for ridiculous things, this time its feeding birds in her own garden, which he also does but he has an issue with her doing it and having been told that the case was closed by environmental services, the anti social task force said there was nothing they could do for her, hes now started harassing her again and the council seem to be backing him.
She owns her own home, hes a council tenant and hes in clear breach of his tenancy agreement.
It can be really difficult as I said in previous posts to get anything done legally about nuisance neighbours. This time we've contacted a local councillor, because my mum woke up yesterday to someone from the council in a van outside her house taking photos of her garden. This neighbour has also been doorstepping other neighbours to get them to try and harass my mum, one neighbour complained about a tree in her garden, its not a danger, but the man who is harassing her and another man who has joined in both have trees that are hazards because they are overgrowing.
And that's just part of a campaign of harassment that's been going on for the best part of 20 years and involved trees of my mums being cut down, a rock thrown at her cats head, another of her cats being screamed at and my mum given abuse in the street.
Often the police say its the councils issue, anti social task force wont do anything without witnesses and the council do nothing.
Some councils will be better than others but ours are worse than useless.0 -

Yep, but what you need is the evidence of all these complaints, combined with your log, and the police report (there will be a report, u need to ask for a copy). - Take it to a district court and apply for an injunction, its a civil procedure (and there will be a smal cost), but if she breaches this, its contempt of court, and thats a criminal matter, and the police have no discretion regarding arrest.0 -

Yes i over simplified it, my next post clarified the route of injunction.
that sounds pretty bad too. Though it should be noted, your mother isnt helping matters but not counter reporting, with her own photographs. I would invest in a good, easy to use video camera, and keep it in the had bag. As soon as any abuse start, click record, and see what happens.
The police shy away from neighbour disputes, but harassment is a criminal offence. She should insist on filing a complaint, which they then must investigate0 -
Surely the logs listing what you do in your house so intricately has got to be a reflection of her mental health? That's just not right. Agree with getting onto the council and social services. Really feel for you and hope they can get her sorted so you can actually live in your home.0

It would not be inappropriate to ring SS advising them the woman appears to you to be unwell and is at risk of harming others..................

Meh...so she'd been on to the council at 9am to try and make another complaint (which she couldn't do cos there's already one open) she's told them that the BMW was ours (!?!) that had the alarm going off this morning as well. However, she's also given herself away. Her original complaint stated that I'd come down the street with my music on and sit there for a considerable length of time listening to it. Except today on the phone she's said that I was coming down the street, parking up and then going inside. The council have told her they are closing her complaint as she'd lied about it in the first instance, and that her behaviour was totally unacceptable. The council have also said that I am CATEGORICALLY NOT breaking any laws or causing a nuisance. She's gone mad. She's furious at the police for siding with us.

How on earth do you know all this ^^^^^ ?.................

the woman at the council told me. She'd spoken to the old woman before I'd rung. To be honest, I don't think she's supposed to have told me all that, but I think she felt bad about the situation. But there's a letter on its way to us stating that the case is closed and no further action will be taken. How on earth do you know all this ^^^^^ ?
I feel exhausted to be honest of the whole situation. But I'm hoping that now both the police and council have said that I'm doing nothing wrong and that she's the one that's causing the problems.0 -
Was nice to have a lie in this morning!:rotfl:0
