Problem Neighbour. Thoughts?

Not sure how it would/could work with post/milkman ( or woman) but could you put a padlock or bike chain on your gate? Doesn't have to be an expensive one but that would potentially solve the problem of her walking onto your property and using returning the bin as an excuse to peer through your windows.
They usually come with two keys so you would have one each. I know it's a pain and you shouldn't have to do it but it might make you feel a little better knowing unless she climbs over she can't get onto the property.
Maybe even if you just used it on the bin day so she couldn't put it back... I don't really have a solution but wondered if that might help...0 -
As previously mentioned, the recent reports from Northern Ireland about 'trouble' have been to do with parades, which - leaving the political aspects to one side - involve music played at high volume.
I do agree with the poster who made the point that you seem to be watching your neighbour quite a lot too.
So presumably that makes it ok for her to make comments like that about him? Like I said, if he'd been black or Asian, would you still be trying to write off her comments then? She's making a sweeping statement about something and someone she knows nothing about.
Besides, I'm watching out for her now as we're keeping a diary for her behaviour towards us to give to the police and social services if needs be.0 -
Get some net curtains up at your windows for now, or close the curtains when you go out.
Put a bike combination lock or similar pad lock on the gate to keep her out of the garden, mind you this option would also keep the local postie and such like out as well.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I have my post held at the village post office for me as I have padlocks on my gate.
They don't charge and I just collect it when I'm passing by. It woks fine.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She could have some kind of dementia, or something of the sort, no 'happy' person would behave like you, OP, describe.
I knew someone who, before her dementia became obvious had all kinds of paranoia and was incredibly unpleasant and verbally aggressive, everyone was wary and from being popular no-one ever contacted her anymore. Your neighbour sounds like she has issues and has probably alienated many people around her and likely leads a very sad life so I'm not sure that any kind of getting your own back is going to help. I'm not suggesting that makes your life one bit easier, nor am I suggesting that you sit back and let it happen, only perhaps get more formal advice as to how to proceed. Maybe council? CAB? if not them, perhaps they can direct you the right people?0 -

I genuinely think she's lonely. Both her children live in Australia and haven't spoken to her in 3 years after she fell out with them, and she doesn't have any visitors. My little old lady next door said she was surprised no one had thrown a brick through her window over the road she been that rude to people over the years.0
