Most of the waiting is either solicitors or others in the chain!

First time buyers and it's a new build, no chain :j
  • JennGa i am very similar timescales/dates to you!

Due to complete on 7th March. Currently waiting for a verdict on help to buy. I have a house to sell (no other chain apart from that) Their survey is on Thursday. The minute i get a decision back from HTB i can submit my mtge application and send off for my survey.
    Spreadsheet-obsessed.

Abbey/Santander have a backlog of applications :( Our full application has been with them since last Tuesday. I've never been so nervous buying a house!

Not what I want to hear :(

Our Application went in Thursday and MA suggested we would hear and have valuation booked within 7 days! I don't think I could get through another weekend of not knowing!

We have applied to Santander also. Seriously getting worried about the developers tight timelines and my travel plans. Typical!

I know, I'm desperate to hear this week. Our MA said 3-4 days! Abbey contacted him on Saturday for more info so he was under the impression that they were working overtime at the weekend to clear the backlog.

I'm currently playing the waiting game and have found this thread really useful as a FTB. My timeline so far is:

    14th Jan Offer Accepted
21st Jan Full mortgage application with RBS - credit check passed (phew) and told I would receive offer subject to underwriters and valuation.
23rd Jan Paperwork received from RBS with a 'Giving my agreement' form and direct debit mandate to return. Sent back the same day.
27th Jan Call from underwriters to say everything had passed with them and now valuation needed to be completed. Valuation survey fee taken.
28th Jan Valuation Survey arranged for 30/1
    30th Jan Valuation Survey completed
31st Jan paperwork received from solicitors to confirm boundaries of property.
    x

    Update:

4th Feb Chased RBS on result of valuation, informed that they were awaiting a CML Certificate from Vendor before valuation could be confirmed.
10th Feb Agent confirmed outstanding document sent.
13th Feb Call from RBS confirming valuation at asking price and checking details to go to offer
17th Feb Offer received in the post as well as contract documents from solicitor! ::j

Hopefully things can move quickly now as I'm moving out of my rented place next Thurs!
