Anyone got any idea how long Nat West are taking to process applications at the moment please? Want to remortgage to them before 30 Sept and my broker is being a bit slow to reply to contact.0

Well today we have heard from Aldermore and they’ve said no on the basis that we use and pay our credit cards every month. We were advised by a previous mortgage advisor that this would reflect positively on our credit file however it’s now being held against us 🤷🏽!♀️ I don’t get it! Disappointed is an understatement!
Our mortgage adviser was pretty !!!!ed off to be fair for it getting to this stage, underwriter reporting she was happy with everything and it being stopped at the last hurdle by the senior underwriter but there is nothing we can do. He’s been in touch today with the mortgage lender who are reviewing our application for a DIP and hopefully we will know where we stand soon.
It makes me so sad and stressed, we have worked so hard to pay off our defaults and get ourselves in a better financial position over the past 3 years, it feels like we just cant catch a break 🙁
How far did you get with your application? We had our survey done yesterday and heard today that’s all ok so now just waiting.
I’m so stressed!0 -

Our timeline:
04/09/19 - DIP from Santander, and one from Natwest - keeping our options open
04/09/2019 - view our dream home and put in an offer
05/09 2019 - offer accepted!!!!!!
05/09/2019 - Full application in to Santander and documents submitted
06/09/2019 - Instructed solicitors
09/09/2019 - further documents submitted
09/09/2019 - EA inform us that sellers have had 2nd viewing on the property they wish to buy
So now we are just waiting. I think I will be happier when we have passed the credit score and personal part of the application. Until then, I shall carry on biting my nails!
To add to our timeline:
10/09/2019 told as husband has an account with Santander this needed to be merged (which happens on Sundays!) before they could proceed
16/09/2019 Valuation took place
17/09/2019 application sent to underwriters
17/09/2019 EA informs that the sellers have not had an offer accepted on a property yet
Now we are waiting for the full decision, but have the added stress that the sellers have not yet found somewhere to move to!0 -
We have applied with Natwest.. Application received on 5th, they have came back twice with 3 questions on the 10th and the 16th. We where told its on final checks yesterday so should know tomorrow.0

Hi all, we are in the nervous wait period too!
We had the valuation yesterday and report was rcvd this morning according to broker but so worried application will be rejected.
Anyone have any experience with masthaven bank?0 -
Banging head on the HSBC mortgage wall, won't accept SA302 print outs from Accountants. Just seem to be going round in circles - mostly on hold for HSBC but they are sorry they're not yet able to answer my call..................The futures bright the future is Ginger0

We have our mortgage offer exactly 1 month after applying with Masthaven!!! Wooohoooooo!! :j :j0

Well done 👍🏻 :beer:0 -
Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and illustrate our timescales from start to finish.
We've reserved a new build home so our process includes applying for the Help to Buy scheme:
22/8 - Obtained DIP from broker for purchase price we were looking at
23/8 - Reserved new build
23/8-2/9 - On holiday
3/9 - Provided mortgage broker with documents
4/9 - Had to supply a couple of additional documents
5/9 - Full mortgage application submitted
9/9 - Submitted help to buy application
16/9 - Valuation
17/9 - Mortgage offer issued
18/9 - Help to buy application accepted
Taking into account our holiday where we couldn't do anything, that makes it 17 days between reserving our new build to having the mortgage offer in place. Really pleased with the speed of things.0 -
Ok, so here goes. We're in! It's a long time since I last applied for a mortgage (over 18 years ago - annoying, because I would have been seeing a light at the end of the tunnel if I hadn't divorced).
All of our documents have been provided to the broker (via Habito, so I'll let you know how that goes)
Because our vendor is buying a ready-built property and we have no backwards chain, everyone (except us) is desperate to move quickly!
Unfortunately, our deposit is rather complicated and I hope it doesn't get us jammed up (Part savings, part inheritance which happened months ago, so don't want to go after probate solicitors for a letter unless we have to).The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
