I think I would have been inclined to sit in the bank and wait for the MA to finish their conference call.
  • I really wanted to gazfocus. The lady made it clear that he was going to be ages - plus I only had an hour on the car!
If I keep looking at my phone......it will ring.....yes???

Can I join? I'm in Scotland and buying with the HTB equity loan scheme.
    - Halifax AIP received
    - HTB approved
    - Reserved on new build (paid £500)
    - Valuation fee paid
    - Payslips & bonus letters to Halifax all approved and in order

Now (impatiently!) waiting on the valuation to be completed - should have been Monday but site was closed at short notice due to family bereavement.

Desperate to know if we'll get our offer. I've heard people saying that if Halifax are proceeding with the valuation survey, it's just a matter of time before I get the formal offer but the suspense is almost too much to take....

Update from me - it's been 'fun' so far.
10/01 - Valuation completed. Value came back at £10k under the purchase price and when we read the survey it was full of errors - complained to Halifax who agreed to carry out a case review.
10/01 to 29/01 - Halifax internal case review (lots of to-ing and fro-ing between me, Halifax, Financial Advisor and Builder)
30/01 - Outcome of case review. Surveyor had based valuation on wrong house style ( ! ) and agreed to re-do valuation.
31/01 - Valuation carried out - valued at purchase price and correct detail in the survey now
    04/02 - Mortgage offer issued :j :j :j

10/01/14 - Fell in love last property on development in my town.
20/01/14 - Secured AIP from Virgin Money
30/01/14 - Full application made, only needed to provide Accountants Cetificate and ID and signed declaration, apparently wife and I did very well at the credit scoring. (hoping this is a good thing)
    UPDATE..
05/02 - Broker called to say evidence/documents all received ok, they have instructed valuation for this week and all looking ok so far...

Is the fact valuation being started a good sign?
  • Full application submitted by MA on 03/02/14.

Just heard from MA that the app as been passed on to the underwriter today, 05/02/14, how long will it be with the underwriter?

Wow ispooky666 so all has gone quite quick since you had your mortgage offer really.
My solicitors haven't done a thing yet, haven't filled out a thing I'm hoping their part doesn't drag on too long.

I'd be so happy to have my keys in March and be done with this anxiety!

Thats me pestering the solicitors everyday... I think they have put my emails into SPAM folder.
The vendors are taking their time.
