Can't you threaten to change solicitors if things don't start moving by the end of the week? Oooh I wouldn't be happy..

Been FTB's I don't know if I am been impatient and this is just how long things take or if our solicitors really are taking the pee!

It's not even that we're in a massive hurry to move in as we plan on decorating first once we get keys, we just want some idea of date so we can start to get organised.

It's the lack of communication and updates that's really getting on my nerves. I feel like a pest having to chase them up every week.

Apparently the huge bulk of papers I sent in as proof this time finally covered everything.

30/01/14 - text/email to say formal mortgage offer has been issued :j

    Offer arrived in post 03/01/14

Just waiting for contract pack to get to our solicitor.
    Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

    Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,000
  • 15/01 sold my flat
    18/01 viewed house
20/01 first and second offer rejected
    21/01 third offer accepted
23/01 full application with Natwest Help to Buy awaiting further developments...
27/01 call from underwriters need copy hope OH P60 which will show £5k more then what the mortgage man put down because of overtime so not worried about that. Do you think they will accept a fax or scanned email or will they need to see the original.
28/01 sent P60 by email to guy in branch
01/02 called natwest not had p60 forwarded arghhhh
03/02 natwest received P60 fax but ineligible need an email copy but only from branch man who's away till THURSDAY. IM LOSING IT!
  • I'm currently playing the waiting game and have found this thread really useful as a FTB. My timeline so far is:

    14th Jan Offer Accepted
21st Jan Full mortgage application with RBS - credit check passed (phew) and told I would receive offer subject to underwriters and valuation.
23rd Jan Paperwork received from RBS with a 'Giving my agreement' form and direct debit mandate to return. Sent back the same day.
27th Jan Call from underwriters to say everything had passed with them and now valuation needed to be completed. Valuation survey fee taken.
28th Jan Valuation Survey arranged for 30/1
    30th Jan Valuation Survey completed
31st Jan paperwork received from solicitors to confirm boundaries of property.

I realise that I'm being very impatient waiting for the results if the valuation survey and (hopefully) my mortgage offer, does anyone have any experience of how long RBS usually take to come back with the results of the valuation and how long they take to make an offer if that's all ok?

    Thank you x

Ok as im a bag of nerves and hoping this will help im joining in!

Im self employed (company director) so has been harder to get to here, using the HTP EL scheme.

10/01/14 - Fell in love last property on development in my town.
20/01/14 - Secured AIP from Virgin Money
30/01/14 - Full application made, only needed to provide Accountants Cetificate and ID and signed declaration, apparently wife and I did very well at the credit scoring. (hoping this is a good thing)

So now just waiting to hear of any updates, so nervous, all I want to do is provide my wife and 22 month old son with a permanent home! Never felt so stressed in my life!!!...

We also have fallen in love with a house, a forever home - which makes it even more stressful!
I also applied on the 30/1 and I'm waiting for an update. Our MA only works part time and is not back until tomorrow - I'll be going down first thing!

    Valuation completed 03/02/14

What happens if the valuation higher or lower?

Shared Ownership stair casing to 100%

    17/12/13 - Valuation obtained
9/01/14 - Housing Association agreed price
    10/01/14 - Broker instructed
    20/01/14 - Solicitor instructed
    23/01/14 - AIP from Woolwich
    03/02/14 - Valuation undertaken
03/02/14 - Lease sent to solicitor
04/02/14 - Valuation back, matches price
04/02/14 - Valuation accepted by Woolwich
04/02/14 - Woolwich request 2012/2013 P60's for my self and partner (why both years?)

Really thought the valuation was the last document, really want that offer to come through!
