Broker didn't contact me Friday, so yes you guessed it, I called Natwest, and I got the answer we have been waiting for.
Mortgage was accepted Friday afternoon, she told me everything the broker should be telling me, so I need to act surprised when they call me. Offer should be in post to us Monday/Tuesday,, We cannot still believe it. After all the ups and downs and no correspondence from the broker. we are finally going to be home owners after 20 years of renting.:T:T
When we plan to remortgage after out 2 yr fixed we def will not go through a broker as its been such hard work and have had more response direct from Natwest.
And my credit rating has gone from Fair to excellent in 3 weeks, since the start of the process, so I am super pleased.
Our time line has been :

    AIP with Natwest 14/07
    Property found 15/07
    Reserved NB 15/07
    Broker given go ahead 19/07
Forms sent to Broker & Solicitor 20/07
    HTB ATP 27/07
    Valuation money taken out 27/07
Broker asked for my info 31/07
    Valuation booked 03/08
    Natwest reviewing last document 03/08
    Natwest received valuation report 04/08
    Mortgage agreed 04/08
    Offer in post 08/08
  • Hello, we have also applied through leeds. Congrats that everything went well for you.

We have been asked for extra documents, do you think its a positive sign we will get accepted given that we have sent everything back very promptly?

Our valuation is happening today - nervously biting my nails in anticipation!! Hopefully I'll hear something today or tomorrow - does anyone know how long Skipton take to offer after valuation if everything else is in order?

Congratulations on getting your mortgage! Which number did you call to speak to NatWest? The broker sent my papers of to the underwriter on Friday and the valuation payment got taken out today but I'd like to know the current status of my application...

    Great news,
you can call them here and ask them for ref number, 0800400999
then you can track it here, apparently brokers don't like you to have the tracking number for some reason

    Good luck

Argh, just rang the lender to check whether the valuation report was recieved yesterday. It wasn't, because the valuation was never booked in!! Apparently the estate agent was told that the surveyor wanted to do it on the 7th, but no one got in touch with the vendor to actually book it. The surveyor tried 4 times to get hold of them, the estate agent lied to me about it... it's not sounding good is it? I think after all this our vendor might be getting cold feet. Why else would they avoid booking in a valuation? Someone talk me down and give me logical reasoning for this, please? :( The surveyors are currently holding a slot on the 11th for a valuation, but if no one can get in touch with the vendor then that's not going to happen is it.

We only live half a mile away from the new house. I'm wondering if I should go and knock on the door and find out what's going on...
