We decided to go through L&C on a number of personal recommendations. here's our timeline so far.
24/02 - got DIP from L&C
28/02 - after viewing lots of houses placed an offer
29/02 - offer accepted
1/03 - instructed L&C to get AIP- decided to go with Halifax as offered best rate for 20% deposit
02/03 - Halifax AIP completed - broker requested documents all sent through. Vendor has taken house off the market.
03/03 - documents received by L&C and passed to lender
now we are waiting!!! i have to say we are hugely impressed with L&C so far.
So here is a quick update to our timeline
04/03 - valuation and survey fee taken from account - no news from L&C
08/03 - chased caseworker - Halifax had a query about my payslip - came back to us saying they had accepted our application subject to valuation!!
09/03 - MAP surveyors contacted us with T&C's so should hear about valuation date very soon.
Does anyone have any experience of Maitlands Acorn Professional?0 -

It means your purchase price will effectively be £250 less as you have already paid this to reserve the house - as part of your purchase price.0 -

Quick question though.... reservation fee.... I paid £250 to reserve the house (new build) do I get this refunded on completion, or taken off the mortgage or anything?
Surely they don't just get to keep it?.. do they.....0 -
