Hi all,
Thought I would add my update:D
Halifax advised on Tuesday that Colleys are so busy that they have no one to do our valuation! Halifax have however appointed another surveyors company and an appointment should be booked by Friday 28 - not heard nothing yet.....
I feel good though, no stress today, yay! I think it is because I know things are moving in the right direction finally. My solicitors are working on things, mortgages slowly but surely plodding along.... I just hope there are no hiccups0 -
UPDATE
Just had email from broker, they want timber & damp report! So have to get a report done and send it back to them:(

By the skin of my teeth I've managed to get someone to do one tomorrow, won't get report until Thursday next week though as they are really busy AND it's a ruddy bank holiday! Report is cost £180 and if any works need doing and we use them they will refund the fee.
Fingers crossed it's not going to be a big problem.

Best of luck with it!
Still not heard anything my side of things. Will be so annoyed if nothing comes through tomorrow! I doubt they are working this Saturday!0 -

We had this on the previous property we tried to buy, we came to an agreement with the seller that he'd pay for this (one of those if our lender wants it then anyone else you try to sell to may also want it)
The survey cost £300 but really opened a can of worms on the house and Natwest wanted to retain part of the mortgage too, make sure you really get a reputable company and look in depth into any finding.
Good luckSealed Pot Challenge - #462

Hi All,
Just thought I'd update you with my progress:-
03/08 - DIP with Halifax via Broker
22/08 - Full Application submitted and £500 valuation taken via broker
27/08 - survey/valuation done (never advised so this was a surprise that this had been done)
All nervous now, at least I'm one step closer.:j0
