This has been a helpful thread to try and ease the mortgage process worries!

    My timeline;

20/6 - AIP from Halifax, offer made and accepted
23/6 - full application made and all docs submitted
26/6 - Halifax asked for some additional documents for a 5 year old missed payment/dispute on my credit file
01/7 - further credit check done by Halifax (the hard search I expect?)
03/7 - MB confirmed they had chased Halifax and told my case was still with business assessor (valuation not instructed yet)

Trying to hold off asking solicitor to do the searches until I have an answer from Halifax. Got me all a bit worried with them asking about my credit file.

Roll on next week, let's hope for some good news for us all :-)

New application going in with Halifax today, nearly 3 weeks of waiting and things haven't worked out with Nationwide. So, new timeline!

06/06 - Reserved new build plot
12/06 - Submitted help to buy property information form
    12/06 - Appointed solicitor
15/06 - Received help to buy authority to proceed
    15/06 - Solicitors began searches
17/06 - Supporting documents received by mortgage advisor
07/07 - Decision in principle with Halifax passed

Our mortgage advisor should have the full application in by the end of the day, hopefully we will have good news this time around.

Finally after reading and posting here for the last few months, I can happily say I have my mortgage offer.

April - offer accepted on shared ownership 53%, same day got AIP
28th May - Application rejected due to historic pay day loads from 2010
10th June - Appeal rejected & house sold to another buyer
13th June - new property viewed
15th June - Offer Accepted for 100% ownership (freehold)
    17th June - AIP approved
23rd June - Full app submitted with signed declaration
26th June - further docs requested and sent
    1st July - Valuation done
6th July - Lender confirmed all docs received and with underwriters
7th July - confirmation that offer has been posted out!!

Very very happy right now with the result, bearing in mind I had 4 defaults on my file from 2011 and thought I was doomed forever :)
just waiting on the solicitors now!

Don't worry, I've been waiting for almost 3 weeks now with the RBS. Spoke to our mortgage advisor yesterday who told me that they have been absolutely innundated with applications over the last 6 weeks. She told me not to worry and it might take up to a week.

We have CC debt, a small-ish deposit, my fiance is self employed and I have only been in my current job for 3 months, however our MA at the bank has informed us that both the bank and the underwriters are happy with everything and they are just waiting on the home report.

These things take time, stay positive! :)
02/02/11: MBNA CC: £1700 RBS CC: £3800 Nationwide CC: £2300
    Money Owed to parents: £1800

Aim to be debt free by July 29th 2016!
  • 05/06 offer accepted had DIP granted.
10/06 full mortgage app with Halifax
    13/06 all documents submitted
    07/07 passport required
    Still waiting...
    This is so antagonising
  • They said my score was excellent on the 10/06 and couldn't see any probs with application as no adverse history.
Think they forgot about me :(

Halifax seems to be asleep. Whenever i contact my MA he says you will hear something tomorrow and he has been telling this for weeks. So frustrating and our compleation day is 17/7 which means next week. Still waiting for the offer.
Give us an answear god sake.
    Halifax has stolen my sleep

We received our mortgage offer this morning so I thought I'd post the timeline in case it's useful to anyone as a reference (particularly as I'm self employed):

15th June - Offer accepted on property
20th June - Mortgage application submitted
26th June - Survey & valuation were done, plus the SA302s arrived from HMRC (11 days after they were requested) to prove my income
Some more questions were asked in between then and today:
    10th July - Mortgage offer!

    :)
