Still no news for me. Is the glass half full or half empty? If it was whisky I would just drink it the way I am feeling now. Advisor will chase application this morning. If this goes through I will buy her some flowers.

How long have you been waiting and who is the mortgage application with? I'm starting to get anxious as I havent heard anything yet about valuation or next steps for a week or so with Leeds whereas when I applied with Nationwide they would text updates regularly..

Still waiting for Halifax. Valuation done on the 24th, all is good. Got valuation report on the 26th, all my broker has to tell me is "still with the underwriters"

All the waiting is driving me nuts and I am eating, sleeping, drinking mortgages at the moment. I need to hear something back this week or I'll definitely go mad!

I'm awaiting a mortgage offer from the Halifax. The valuation is booked this Friday so hoping for a response either way after this.

I know what you mean though, I feel like the only thing I've thought about for the best part of a month is mortgages, underwriters, documentation, credit reports....it's exhausting isn;t it!!!

    Fingers crossed:)

    Have they instructed the valuation?

I think I've got quite a few more days wait I'm afraid.

My broker has just got in touch, requesting an invoice for Nov 2014 for my partner who is self employed, which she already has. After going back and forth( We handed that in during the full application meeting... No you didn't... Yes we did... I can assure you I haven't got it... Well I can assure you I handed it in with this this and this.. Oh sorry, my bad, it's right here. I'll fax it on to Halifax Pronto )

My head hurts, and I don't know how much more I can take... And to make it worse, we are supposed to be completing and moving in by the end of march.

Are you going through an independent mortgage broker? Sounds like they're adding to your stress - cant believe they misplaced the documentation. The only thing you need to think is - you're in a better position now than you were yesterday and it's edging closer plus at least you're in the knowledge about what the underwriter is looking at so it's taking the guess work out of it. Let us know when you receive your offer !!!!:p

I applied mortgage on 13th of February with HSBC and started panicking now.

They completed the valuation in couple of days but since then they went really quite. I keep calling them but all I get is your application on its final stage.. Noone tells me how long it will take. The estate agent already started asking why it is taking too long.

I am first time buyer and have good credit history and reasonable salary. Is there any thing I can do to make HSBC to work on my application ? Their call centres/branches are compltely useless. They dont want to assist at all, someone should remind them this is not a free service they are offering..

    Thanks,

    Apo

I managed to talk to someone at HSBC and they sorted my mortgage out...so happy but I called my solicitor and found out that my solicitor and seller's solicitor are not talking to each other... It has been 3 weeks since I arranged my solicitor, he hasnt done anything yet... Both of them blaming each other... . Is it really diffucult for them to pick up the phone and start the process?... Not sure how I am going to make them to work on my flat purchase...

Well I have been watching this thread for a while, hoping we would soon be able to post (I do have a job and usually work hard but I think I am becoming unhealthly obsessed with this forum since starting the house buying process and seem to have achieved nothing at work for the past 2 months........!)
Anywho, I digress - Here is our timeline so far:

DIP with Aldermore through MA - 11/01/2015
Offer made and accepted on house - 02/02/2015
Skip forward 4 weeks waiting for vendor to find a new home.....
Were informed chain is complete - 02/03/2015
Put in full mortgage application - 03/03/2015

Now the dreaded wait. I do hope it doesn't take too long. I have had this eye twitch for nearly 2 months and im sure it's to do with the blooming house buying process. URGH.

Any ideas on length of wait? MA says plan for 28 days but could be less......

Any advice on how to pass the time when not at work that doesn't involve eating loads of chocolate and drinking wine? :D:beer:

Yes I am going through an independent broker. One if the best in Glasgow, apparently. She's faxed through the invoice and says we should hear back in the next couple of days. Here's hoping I get good news by Friday.. :-)
