Full Agreement over the phone with HSBC (in spite of a dodgy credit history), need to submit ID and my P60s for it to be finalised... Nervous! Need to book the valuation once it's all received. Although they told me it's a "done deal" I can't help but worry!

Hi all, after sorting out Natwest mortgage application over phone, we have been accepted in principal for the amount we want, phoned Natwest today who said they have recieved the documents they asked for and have passed these over to the Underwriters, and i should phone back Tuesday to get the underwriters descision, they have already arranged for the Valuation on the house to take place on Friday, not sure if when i hear back on Tuesday that this will be the Underwriters saying yes you can have the mortgage you want, or i have to wait till the valuation has been done before i get that answer ?

eeek its all so nerve wracking

Let us know if you hear tomorrow peytonx, I will do the same. everything crossed.

Natwest requested a structual and dampness report as some dampness was noted at the valuation.

The two surveys are being carried out today so fingers crossed.

ok a roller coaster of a day today. Builders adament in not reducing the price which meant we had no choice but to pull out if the sale....absolutely gutted. Went straight to estate agents to get appointment on other houses, including non new builds. Found out a house we really loved a few months ago was back on the market, made an offer and accepted. All in a day :-)

Question I have now is using the broker we have is it a simple task to keep existing lender and transfer to a new mortgage product in their range. We are looking at a traditional mortgage at £221,000 now rather than a HTB mortgage for £264,000. We have a 10% deposit too, rather that the 5% plus 20% equity loan on previous product. Do we need to start over with Natwest or will it be a quick transfer and get a new valuation done on this new property quickly?

note the values above are the actual amount we need to borrow. Ie price minus deposit.

Sounds like you have had a time of it! Good luck with the new house.

  • So...I know there is a long wait for some people to get a valuation arranged by Halifax (Colleys). I am in the south east and had my valuation done last Wednesday & have been told by my mortgage advisor there is a delay in receiving the report. Has anybody else found this???:(
