Anyone any recent experience of Santander. Just about to have mortgage and valuation and wondering how long they normally take from valuation to offer?

there is already a post about santander delays etc. This will give you an indication of whats currently going on at santander.

Thanks will try to find it. So far they seem quite quick. Just wondering how much longer now after valuation.
  • 17/06 - went direct to Skipton, they advised several errors / missing basic info from broker - confirmed phone numbers, job title etc over the phone.

18/06 - broker advised 12 months statements required for accounts that have only been opened 3 months (cash isa transfer), now need to order statements for my closed Natwest Isa which will probably take another week! Plus another 4-5 working days for Skipton to assess the additional info = another 2 weeks in total.

19/06 - feeling royally chuffed off and about to tell them where they can stick it - lost all motivation...plus I'm delaying the seller so now I feel guilty that I'm holding things up.

It's been nearly 1 month since I submitted my application and I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall.

    23/06 - valuation instructed for 26/06
24/06 - I advise my broker of the above - surely it should be the other way round!!!!

Finally getting there, fingers crossed on the valuation - should be back early next week!

    23rd June: Offer Accepted
25th June: Application with Halifax, everything checked and OK, but asking for bank statements for last 3 months as proof of deposit

Now Im scared. We needed £5,950, we had £4,500 in that account forever, but the rest we deposited in from other savings/investments, and a gifted amount from parents.

Should I be worried? I really need some advice and reassurance. It feels like forever waiting and it's only been two days.

Apparently we're in some kind of pilot scheme so should get a response within a week.

Do you think we'll be decilned?

received the contracts from the Solicitors, but no more news from L&C or Nationwide, was hoping to have heard from Nationwide by now as they seem to be working quite quickly at the moment......
Vendor is asking for exchange dates (Tuesday will be 8 weeks since house offer, but due to issues with previous mortgage app (YBS) we are a little behind)
Have chased L&C today, they had a note on file to call Nationwide on Monday, so just have to sit & wait I guess  Hopefully more news monday
    Happy weekend everyone xxxx

I've just been through this process with Leeds so might be able to help -

    14th May - Offer accepted
14th May - Mortgage agreement in principle
20th May - Mortgage offer submitted
5th June - Mortgage approved subject to valuation
    12th June - Valuation
18th June - Mortgage offer through the post!

When I met with my mortgage broker he took copies of my ID and I had three months of bank statements that I left with him. From what I can tell Leeds did go back to the mortgage broker to ask some more questions but he was able to answer them all so it didn't slow anything down.
