That's good news !
We are supposed to be completing on Thursday. All packed, removals booked,Royal mail redirected, notice handed in on rental property.....but still not even exchanged. Our "no chain" isn't a "no chain" after all.
Its not going to happen is it ? Do I cancel removals ? I don't know what to do !0 -
Haven't updated in a long while..
Got mortgage offer in February for a our new build home, slight delay so had to get extension to the offer, thankfully all problem free and now agreed completion date and get the keys on the 4th July!!
We started this process on the 5th January been easily the most stressful experience of my life but we are nearly there, I cant wait to see my two years old sons face when I give him his new bedroom :-)0 -
Got my HB report! (but yet to hear from the bank regarding the valuation).
All seems fine in the HB report ..aside from the balcony juliet doors (made of timber) which reads "the doors to the juliet balcony are significantly rotted and should be immediately replaced".
My thoughts - Slightly concerning, but some what understandable as all timber needs replacing eventually.
So I called the surveyor to see if he could shed more light on the matter. He told me they're definitely rotted on the lower part of the doors ("take a compass with you and it's very easy to press in, proving how soft the timber is") - although, they do open/close without concern. He did say this was the only major concern, and it was a very nice flat indeed.
Anyone had any similar experiences? I'm obviously going to take a look for myself when I book the next viewing ...not sure what to do from there though!?

Just had a call from Natwest - valuation matches sale price and a full offer is in the post.0 -
So latest update....finally got everything sent back to YBS, the forms which they said they posted on 2nd June have still not arrived, but they have now emailed it to me. After the last "we've lost your application" debarcle, I have sent it all recorded delivery.
Fingers crossed the underwriters are happy and we can get to the valuation stage!! Solicitor is pushing for money for searches, but trying to hold him off.......
Sooooooooo YBS have declined our mortgage as they are not satisfied that the house will be our main residence (OH is in the Army and I would be commuting to the office or out at meetings 2-3 days per week) WONDERFUL.
Back to the drawing board and in touch with L&C again, fingers crossed they can find a nice home for our mortgage request!!!!0 -
May 9th - Offer accepted on property
May 12th - application submitted to Nationwide via L&C
May 13th - Email from Nationwide stating "Product Reserved" and application received (AIP)
May 13th - Email from Nationwide stating valuation survey booked for 19th May
May 16th - Request from Nationwide for documentation to support application
May 19th - Email from Nationwide stating satisfactory valuation report received
May 30th - Email from L&C on behalf of Nationwide requesting additional documentation
May 30th - Contact with Solicitor saying vendor yet to provide funds to their solicitors so conveyancing currently at Stage 1 still (!!)
June 4th - Still no progress on conveyancing due to vendor having not provided funding to their representatives
6th June - Logjam with solicitors got freed up, legal checks all now taking place and land registry etc in possession
6th June - contact with Nationwide (I circumvented L&C as not happy with the level of communication I get from the case manager) who confirmed all documentation required had been received and assessed, and that it would go through to final "Plausibility check" which will take 1-2 working days, in other words - by Monday.
7th June - turned 30yr old. Let's hope Nationwide can give me a good present on Monday ;-)
Update:
9th June - called Nationwide at 4pm last night, having sat on my hands all day, to enquire as to the status of the application. I was chirpily told that it had gone to offer earlier that day, and will receive it in writing within 5 working days.
10th June - L&C catch up with events, and txt/email me to confirm the above: I have a mortgage offer from Nationwide now. RESULT!
this gives me hope, thank you! Seems like it's pot luck which case manage you get at L&C as mine has been shocking as well. Never answers the phone and only deals via emails - which she often can't be bothered to reply to as well.
I've been waiting 3 weeks so not quite as long, hoping for a decision today!0 -
