07/05 - Agreement in Principle received
10/05 - Viewed a lovely house and made an offer
    14/05 - offer accepted
15/05 - sent documentation to my mortgage broker
    16/05 - solicitor appointed
19/05 - sent missing documentation to broker

21/05 - MA calls to get extra details about my gf (she's not buying with me but will live with me) and card details for the HomeBuyers Report
22/05 - Received Memorandum of Sale
23/05 - Contacted solicitor: they've received the memorandum as well and now they're waiting for the seller solicitors to send a draft of the contract...

Still early stages but can't wait to hear from the lender...

22/05/15 Got the search result and contract from the Solicitor now ready for exchange... but still need that blasted Mortgage offer which we won't get until June because the valuation won't take until the 29th of May :(

Did I mention that I HATE waiting?

  • Hi all,

B]evidence of current contribution to a pension scheme - help. I don't have a personal pension. Does anyone know if this is a definite requirement, not once did anyone mention it on the phone when applying for the principle. Do other lenders ask for this now? [/B]

    thanks for reading
    Rosie

Pretty sure they are asking just as evidence of outgoings, never heard of a pension being a requisite of getting a mortgage, hopefully it is paid off before pension age!

Update, seems to be confusion all round but still positive.
    19/5 Survey done
21/5 email sent from broker, offer will be sent out on the 22/5
22/5 email sent from broker early afternoon, saying offer issued but incorrect address has entered- will be re-issued 23/5
22/5 Phoned Halifax to check status at 7pm, they say it's all ok, addresses are fine and offer has been issued- so it's fixed?!
22/5 receive survey in post- they got house age incorrect and said it was a 3 bed when it's a 4- money well spent.

23/5 broker receives mortgage offer- emails me a copy to check and it's all good! Hard copies in the post. That's a relief.
