anyone know the current time scales for Halifax mortgages
My application was submitted on 2nd May and offer came through on 13th so 7 working days for us. It honestly couldn't have been easier, no additional questions asked by Halifax regarding affordability which I was worried about!0 -

That is amazing, you must have a big grin on your face! 7 days! Blimey.
15/05 After I found out that the valuation was booked with the builders I got a call from our Broker confirming that he had spoken to the case handler at Accord and that everything is signed off now pending the valuation... fingers crossed!0 -
UPDATE
Well valuation was fine. Just been waiting and waiting and yesterday we were told that we need to submit more recent wage slips for my partner who gets paid weekly. We sent some in at the time of application which were as recent as they could have been at that time but it's taken ages since then so they want some up to date ones.
MA is going to scan them over today.
Really hoping to get some news soon. Getting bored of waiting! Lol
UPDATE
Couldn't stand the wait any longer so I rang Virgin myself this morning. They have confirmed they've received the additional wage slips and it is now at the final processing stage again and has a target review date of Thursday 22nd May. The advisor was really helpful and he said that we should get our decision by then if not before... fingers crossed0 -
I'd like to finally join the club! Put in mortgage application today and now I'm feeling very stressed waiting for news
17/02 AIP
30/04 approx - price agreed on house from family member
17/05 submitted full application with principality - through broker - would have done it sooner but had 2 wait for partners pay slips which he only gets quarterly
I already feel really stressed - hoping everything goes ok with application and all the fees are quickly adding up0 -
My partner & I are waiting for our decision too! Timeline so far:
30/04 - Viewed the property (was in an email from EA after visiting another property) - we immediately put in our offer.
01/05 - Offer accepted.
02/05 - Phoned Natwest to book the formal meeting - told they're incredibly busy so have to wait until the 21st (later, if we want the app done by phone). We say we need it sooner and they ring back with a branch appt on the 13th if we're ok to travel elsewhere to have it (which we were).
13/05 - Mortgage meeting, all went well & the MA sees no issues with it, will be sending all the details on to the underwriters. Expect a turn-around wait of 4-5 weeks, due to the amount of applications they've got on, but they'll be contacting us to arrange the Homebuyers report sooner I believe
Update:
19/05 - Rang the Natwest mortgage dept, the underwriters were looking at our application today. We should expect the Homebuyers Report money to be taken by EOD tomorrow. I hope they don't query anything & it all goes through smoothly!
I just want it all done now!0 -
Our latest NatWest application was submitted on 12 May and the valuation is back today and the case has been offered today.I am a mortgage broker. FTB here, and first post on MSE to boot. Just heard from our MA today that Halifax have got our offer in the post at last, and should be with us later this week to sign. Bit miffed actually, we submitted the full application on 3/5 and the valuation was carried out on the 8/5. Most stories I have heard on here with the Halifax say that they are pretty quick after the valuation to send out the offer letter, but 10 days or so later (and having heard nothing since), I get my MA to badger them. Lo and behold, she calls back a few minutes later and Halifax has 'just' agreed to the offer; I think one of the underwriters must have been sat on my paperwork!
Still, at least it is one major headache out of the way on this traumatic road to ruin. Aaaannnddd... exhale :rotfl:0 -

Hi there
Would you mind disclosing how straightforward this application was?
We applied 28th of April - still no word apart from 3 (1 hard and 2 soft) searches on my and husband's Equifax files...
Thanks in advance0
