    We are waiting to hear back on our mortgage application with Abbey/Santander.

    29/04/14 made offer on house
    02/05/14 offer accepted
    07/05/14 appointment with MA
    08/05/14 full application submitted & solicitors instructed

    Quick update:

    12/05/14 solicitors send draft contracts & begin searches
    12/05/14 further documents requested by Santander and provided
    16/05/15 confirmation application has been passed to underwriters, told to expect a 48 hour turnaround
  • When people refer to an MA what do you/they mean? (Probably a stupid question)

    Mortgage Adviser. Similar is IFA = Independent Financial Adviser
    No such thing as a stupid question! :)

    Oooh Poppy, my Abbey/Santander app went to underwriters on the 14th. I wasn't given an idea of turnaround but fingers crossed it is quick! Awaiting valuation appointment/news now!

    we didn't go with Abbey purely because the IFA said there turnaround was slow at that point..although Natwest doesn't appear to be much quicker !

    Despite being told yesterday it would be next Wednesday before we know if valuation was ok and be sent an offer (possibly) our IFA has just told us all is approved and offer is in the post.

    Its GO, GO, GO:beer::j:T:rotfl:

    On the santander website it says the underwriters are reviewing applications sent through to them on the 14th!

    This is a good link:

    Though checking it can become a bit obsessive :D

    Good luck x
