Hi there. We applied  with TSB on 24th October,  but haven't heard anything since. Anyone got an idea of their timescales? Our completion date is supposed to be 11th December.
We are still awaiting our TSB decision and our application was submitted on 30th September.

There was a technical error with our application so it had to be re-keyed, but I'm not sure how much time that has added.

Oh! That must have been such a nightmare for you! Did you go with TSB directly or through a broker? We did it over the telephone with TSB direct. How long has it been since it was re-keyed?

Via a Broker - I believe the issue was only noticed because I pointed out that there had been 3 Hard Searches done on my credit report.  It was rekeyed on Friday, so fingers crossed it gets sorted soon!

Still waiting on a mortgage offer
05/10 Full application with Natwest through a broker
    27/10 Valuation done
We asked for HomeBuyer survey together with mortgage valuation so I think that is why it took so long.
29/10 our mortgage broker called Natwest to ask about offer and they said it should be issued within 48 hours though at the same time they said that payslips were not ticked, but my broker said everything is ticked in her tracker and she received an email confirmation saying “approved subject to valuation”.
No offer so far today, broker tried calling them but couldn’t get through, spent over an hour on the phone and then lines closed.
Did anyone else experienced waiting for an offer for a long time?
A bit worried now as well that my husband could be furloughed (he works in car dealership) but seems like his company is arguing with Government about that.
I’ve been told Natwest has a very high volume of cases in right now and are delayed a lot. I’m in a very similar situation to you, time-wise! Been told decision on offer by end of this week.
Have you checked your online tracker? We had one document waiting for review and the mortgage was agreed subject to his document being ok. Was told it would be reviewed by the following Wednesday and the offer 24/48 hours later but it was reviewed the same day and we had the offer in our inbox later the same night!
Yeah, we've had no documents waiting since 20th October according to tracker. Just nervous waiting for a decision :)
Give them a call and they will be able to tell you what’s happening. When I called up the lady told me our mortgage had gone to offer and we would have a copy within 48 hours, it was emailed to me later that night! Tracker was still on the first stage with everything ticked off at that point but didn’t show to had gone to offer yet.
  • A timeline from me. Halifax First Time Buyer, 15% deposit. I had a strange default on my account (not a great credit score at the moment of application, later removed when complained).
    DIP 14/09, valuation paid
    Application went to underwriting
    23/10 valuation
offer came through on the 28/10
    received in post 5/11
Took a while and was nerve wracking - yet trust the process!
  • Just found out that our mortgage application was sent to the wrong underwriter...
As a contractor, there are specific underwriters that review these cases, but my case was sent to the "standard" underwriter and is now requesting documentation that is not required when applying as a contractor. Incredibly frustrated, as our buyers want to complete soon. Awaiting to see what will happen now that our amazing broker is talking to the bank to find out whats happening.

Oh no! That really looks like a joke now. So unprofessional!
I really hope you will finally get a decision soon
  • Hey guys,
Thought I'd update from the perspective of someone with EWS1 nightmares (Despite building being under 18m, and brick)
October 29th - applied for mortgage via broker
October 29th - soft & hard searches done (six in total!)
October 30th - told all was accepted, on the basis of a valuation
    November 4th - valuation
November 5th - Property valued at £0 unless an EWS1 is produced
Not sure what happens next, if anything, but thought I'd post in case it helps those in my position. The process via broker happened really quickly, but EWS1 quickly destroyed any hopes I may have! I'm with HSBC by the way.

Valuation of property has now been booked in by Connell's, but this isn't until 16th November.

21/10 - Received DIP from Virgin Money
    26/10 - Sent full application and payslips/P60s
29/10 - Received call from Underwriter with a couple of questions, all apparently looked ok. Advised that the valuation survey was being instructed and it could be a desktop one.
03/11 - Desktop valuation was booked in
04/11 - Called today to find that there wasn't enough data to carry out a desktop valuation, so they need to do a full survey and will be contacting the vendor
05/11 - The valuation surveyor (Connells) called this morning to ask about property access and keys for a valuation survey. I'm the buyer not the seller so that's not a good start! Have provided the seller's details so hopefully that all goes ok.
06/11 - Valuation of property booked in with vendor.

    The Great Declutter Challenge - £876 :)

  • Hey,
Our timeline with Halifax via Habito below:
06/11 - Applied for mortgage via broker
06/11- Soft & hard searches done (2 each)
09/11 - Desktop valuation was booked in for 11/11
10/11 - Offer received via broker
Still blown away how quickly everything was sorted - all in all it didn't even take 3 working days!!
We had some very bad experiences with HSBC and Metro Bank before, so can't recommend Halifax and Habito highly enough.
    Good luck everyone!! B)
