Hello everyone
Afraid I spent the weekend in a deep depression and panic.
My earlier positive feelings are just giving way to the enormity of what I have done and have got to achieve to get out of it.
I feel like I am trying to swim in glue and keep replaying past decisions in my mind and trying to pretend to turn the clock back.
I know theres lots of you out there and I can read your comments willing me to get going and keep going.
I will.
Little steps huh ?
I filled in the CCCS web - form and they emailed me to say as they now have my details my web account is no longer accessible and I am waiting for them to send me a Debt Management Plan pack.
How long does it take to come and any ideas of how to fill it in ?
Please I still need all your help
Thankyou so so much for all you have done and said so far.

HI twitcher sweetie how you doing? It is natural that you have moments of depression and demotivation like this. All of us go through flat or down periods no matter how long you have been on the site.
Re the remortgage side of things to be honest i;m not to sure why the broker sent you straight back to the Nwide. you can get a mortgage offer now in preparation for your end of payment holiday period, or you can come out of a mortgage during your payment holiday if you have the means to recommence paying the mortgage.
Can you tell me the interest rate that you are currently paying?
Yes i am an advisor but give my unbiased assistance freely here. i cannot offer advice as i don't know the full circumstances just my opinion on what i know from your posts.
Glad you picked up on the cheeky tip re sky and telewest. Thats the way of the DFW!!:p
Seee if you have anything to sell on ebay/freeads, many of us here now have lovely uncluttered tidy houses through selling anything that doesn't have sentimental value to pay our debts!! it does raise good money.
When you feel up to it take a look at the matched betting threads also. very good for making a little extra money.
excellent and good for you re the bank account and other bits and pieces you've done. Don't worry about having abad day hon, sometimes it is all incredibly overwhelming.
PM me if you need any assistance and i'll come back to you quick as i can,
Hug for now.

Hi twitcher.
If you have completed the CCCS form with your income, expenditure and debts on the website already then the pack they send you is an information booklet and a payment slip for you to make your first payment at the post office. The enclose an agreement for you to sign to join the DMP saying they can deal with everything. They also enclose a prepaid envelope for you to send copies of all your latest statements for your debts - this then gives them your account numbers and balances so they can start contacting the right people with your payment offers.
So basically, you sign the agreement (having read it through), send copies of your statements for all your debts and then wait to make your first payment.
They will also send you a letter that you can send to all your creditors to say that CCCS are helping you with finances and you can fill your reference number in too.
The pack takes about a week to come through and the online password arrives shortly afterwards.
CCCS have been great for me. I've just made my second payment and have had absolutely no phone calls for a few weeks now. Wish I had done it earlier as, like you I was borrowing from one card to pay the minimum on the other, and chasing tails!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hi there
Well done on making a start to tackle your debts.
This isn't money saving advice, but you need to think about what you tell your new partner. Obviously how you pay for things is going to change, ie you will not have so much money for going out/socialising/having take aways etc. She may well wonder why.
You have also mentioned that she wants you to go into business with her. Something which if you are honest with yourself you know you are not going to be able to do, unless the deal is she pays the money and you have the ideas, do the work?
So you need to think about what you are going to tell her. She has a right to know at some point, so that she doesn't get her heart set on a path, that is not possible financially for you.
WHEN you do this is up to you. Perhaps once you have paid your first couple of DMP payments? Either way you have to ask yourself how you would feel it the person you loved wasn't telling you about debts that will affect your future together.
best of luck and sorry if this is a bit hard to take

Hello everyone.
My CCCS pack arrived today !
Going to have a good look at it tonight.
pania - re post 53 thankyou for taking so much time , I DO find your kind words comforting, thankyou SO SO much. I need to know what you mean by matched betting - didn't follow that !
newlywed - re post 54 many thanks for all that, I am going to be busy tonight.
pania - re post 56, thanks for that I will be in touch, I didnt know what you meant by pm but do now as I received one today (to that private poster - thanks I WILL respond to you)
Chevalier - re post 55, you are SO right in ALL you say.
I have been torn by all this and have agonized for ages over when where and how to tell her. We live 100 miles from each other and our lives are still kind of independent but I know what I have to do.
I may be a fool over my situation but I know I am essentially an honest and honourable man. Your advice is very good.
RAS - re post 48 I didn't fully understand all that and I need to learn alot more about what it all is.
RAS - re post 50 Great clear advice thanks.
I am sure there are queries you have all raised that I still have not answered yet.I promise I will get to it - the pace of the last few days has astounded me.

Hi everyone,
Wow - what a couple of days !
Thanks newlywed for your advice about CCCS
I completed and signed the CCCS form with my income, expenditure and debts and sent them copies of statements of all my debts in the prepaid envelope.
I also sent copies of the proforma letter that they sent me to all my creditors notifying them of the DMP.
So now I am waiting to make my first payment.
It took the best part of two days to sort out and also sort out Bank accounts.
To everyone on this website a BIG thankyou for all you have done for me.
I realise this is a turning point in my life and that I can never allow it to get so bad ever again.
Now I've got to get sorted saving the pennies and I will be following a lot of your
collective advice.
I intend to get started on eBay and sell stuff in papers etc.
I intend also to have an uncluttered house like pania !
Many thanks
I cannot believe the past 9 days since I first posted.

Hello everyone
On the CCCS letter that I sent out to all my creditors I asked them how I could send token payments to them.
How do you do this - can you send cash ?
Or postal orders ?
I think I'm a bit paranoid but I don't want to send them cheques from my new account.
Or am I being daft ?
Also in this "new era" of reclaiming bank charges can I reclaim charges from acounts which are closed or do I have to keep them open ?
On Martins bank charges page the proforma letter states a £10 cheque has to be sent - presumably from my new account ! ?
Will any bank I owe money to want to allow me to claim the charges as a way of clearing the debt ?
Which is the best thread for newbies like me to follow for reclaiming bank charges ?
Lots of questions - sorry
