  • Best advice; don't get a cashback deal. Safest source; cpw (but Vodafone dropped them last year so that network would be out anyway). From the things I read insisting on porting a number causes lots of problems with cashback deals (or at the very least, can do). Likely to get your cashbacks; given your willingness initially to take a plunge with this lot I suspect wide eyes and therefore would give you maybe 50% probability (which is now average by my reckoning with cpw - far less with other dealers).

Hey guys, I'm not sure if anyone can help me or whether this is the right place to post. My friend took out a cashback deal with TMO in July. Unfortunately, she neglected to look fully at t n c (yes, I know - her fault). She did not receive all the documents required to make a cashback claim, but did not contact Mobile Outlet within 14 days in order to inform them so that they could send out new documents. The contract clause concerned is:

11.8 Any queries relating to Line Rental Entitlements (Cashback) after 14 days of placing your order must be made to cashback@themobileoutlet.co.uk. If any documents are missing from your delivery, you must notify the cash back team within 14 days of receiving your mobile phone. Duplicate vouchers cannot be issued after this period.

Is there anyone out there who could get me a copy of the relevant vouchers so that she can send off her cashback claims and bills? Your help would be much appreciated and enable my friend to be able to claim her cashback.

    Thanks

If the contract was taken out in July, then you dont need vouchers, just the relevant bills and the original dispatch note . The vouchers came in with the change of T&C in August, so they don't affect this contract. A copy of the T&C should have been included when the phone was delivered. These are the valid ones for the contract....

    adidas,

Make sure your friend has a copy of the dispatch note, the terms and conditions are on the reverse side. The terms and conditions explain how to redeem the cashback.

If the dispatch note has not been included with the phone, contact the Mobile Outlet for a copy.

I was thinking, maybe another tactic we could use when sending cash back claims, is to state on the cover letter that if they dispute any of the documentation wasn’t included when it actually was, that you have some sort of evidence (scanned/photo/video) to prove them wrong. This may deter them from rejecting the claim. But then again rejecting a valid claim is just another way of them delaying coughing up. What do you think?
I wonder if all valid rejected claims are disputed by the claimant.

I'm not sure if you've read the thread taz63.

We have been advocating taking pictures and/or video of the claim before going in the envelope for a long time now.

I personally don't tell them on my cover letter that i've done so. If they ever reply that 'i've missed sending in any documentation, I will be off to court to claim the remainder of all my cashback. I seriously don't want my money tied up with these guys any longer than necessary.

Not all valid claims are disputed by the claimant, some people can't be bothered to get what's rightfully theirs.

i was one of the unlucky ones, where tmo claim that they haven’t received all my docs. Thanks to this thread, I made a video of every document I included in the envelope. They’ve got my LBA, I’ve given them until next Wednesday, to pay up, otherwise it’s straight to MCOL for the full years cb, + court costs.
  • Hi all,
It has been 43 days since TMO received my 2nd CB claim. Had emails saying they had received them and would be up to 45 days to reach my account.
    Nothing as yet.
Are people getting their money within this time scale?

Also i'm not to well up on how the forum can be set up, but could some 'sticky's' be made at the start of the thread with facts that could be important to all. i.e. Setting up the court order, T&C's etc.
I know it can be done on the main mobile telephone page but could it be done within a sub thread?

    Just a thought
