Note the box I trialled was a Humax, Talk Talk supply their own el cheapo version which I can't comment on.

    Are you sure about that?

I've been looking into this too and all the Talktalk ads I've seen refer to supplying a free "YouView" box which is the Humax version.

The one with the curved end on the TT ads is a Huawai box, AFAIK they don't supply the Humax one.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Why dont you just go to the TT website. It gives you all the information and prices etc.
It also has its members forum where you can get advice and any questions answered by experts.

What's your last bit about a free gift?
Talktalk call the video on demand channels that are included in the basic package "TV Gift". Weird name - I wonder who thought that up?
Why do you have talk talk rather than freeview? Everyone seems to be saying you can get the same thing for free? So I'm a bit confused???
When you subscribe to Talktalk (other services are available) you get the YouView box for free. If you only had Freeview, you would buy your box, but then not pay a subscription.

Given that we are talking households who already pay for broadband, then bundling the box and some extra channels may make sense for certain customers.

In my case, I transferred from BT to TT, saved 50% of the cost, got the new YV box for nothing, upgraded from 40GB to unlimited broadband and got unlimited calls. It was a no-brainer.

Just checked, aeiral has been cut 4 foot from ground.
Is it possible to add 10 foot of aeiral? Can you get a joining box? If so, I could do it :-)

Potentially, especially if the signal is already good. Alternatively, an aerial tech can replace the cable right up to the aerial.

Its £50 per hour (one or two hours) plus £30 for the cable, plus 20% VAT.
Could be quite expensive if I could join it myself instead.

The easiest way is to get one each of these...

One goes on the old bit of cable, one on the new, and cover the join with masking tape, or silicone sealant if you have it.
