Sounds very much to me like certain EXCEPTIONALLY GREEDY people here (most of whom come from the ELITE thread) don't want others to stumble across these threads because they fear they will lose out !!
These people stockpile goods they don't really need or could possibly use before it expires whilst other people starve. They are not just driven by money saving, but it seems to be PURE GREED. In many cases buying hundreds of 1p items to sell on EBAY/Boot sales rather than what they can personally use!. You're the ones who will ruin it for everyone !

MSE is about sharing and spreading the word to as many as possible, not to a select few post on certain forums.

Some of the comments above are just wrong! Tesco still issue PDF coupons, but not for this month ONLY. Coupons will NEVER disappear as the vast majority will be sensible and use one/two but also spend more money and take business from other stores. Only a tiny fraction will abuse, a hit the like of Tesco/Others can take. If anything coupons and usage will expand just as it's done in the USA.

This thread will no more encourage others to abuse than those already here posting elsewhere. I say merge all the other threads and put them into this one under the extreme couponing title.

think you will find they have stated on their facebook page they are not doing pdf coupons from the magazine anymore to the abuse by the 10 ways crew and that stores have been instructed to only take the magazine coupons from now on. Also assume that as you are a newbie you don't realise how much the last mse coupon campaign hit regular couponers in the pocket

Here we want you to let us know your extreme couponing stories. Have you stockpiled? If you have, show us your pics! Where's the best place for couponing? Have you had problems using them?

She wants to see members stockpile photographs.
She wants members to post the best places to do this.

I don't post often, but this thread wouldn't have anything to do with the recent appointment of Jordon from the Extreme Couponing facebook page to MSE towers would it ?

I'm all for sharing with everyone and consider myself a very modest couponer, but to agree with what everyone has already said but seems to be ignored. All that will happen is those who are greedy and enjoy bragging will post all over this page and kill couponing for those of us who do rely on it to provide us with the opportunity to stretch our budgets and provide those little extras. If I find anything I'm happy to share but not if it will be to the detriment of all. All I can hope is those of us that are rational ignore this thread completely.

probably is true about the appointment as we have seen self promotion off other peoples ideas can lead to very profitable site sales
  • Utterly stupid idea.
Completely agree with 99% of above.

Hopefully some common sense is used soon. And this extreme couponing page will close down.

    Hi there

We completely understand your concerns, but the aim's to help as many people save money as possible by letting them know all the tips and tricks.

We've had this kind of loophole often in our weekly email to 8 million people and we're not about keeping MoneySaving tips secret.

The truth is no matter what most people are too lazy to bother with coupons. On the rare occasions when I have given someone a coupon in store to use they look at me like I have 2 heads. Thread is a bad idea

Makes me sad. Money saving is about having a better standard of life- scrape back where you can and then it can go somewhere else- not about stockpiles. Because of all the abuse it is getting near impossible to use coupons at some shops. Please don't make it worse.

Make a thread about charitable giving and philanthropy, and the good that people can do with learning how to save money, eat better, and waste less, but not about encouraging greed.

    :(

This actually makes me angry . I am new to coupons, until a week ago I didn't think about using them but I knew about them as I haven't lived on another planet for my whole life and never touched a newspaper or magazine or looked on the internet or even watched an advert or heaven forbid walk past an item in the supermarket that actually had that funny label on it with 50p oh I thought that was just a pretty picture I had no idea it was a coupon because i'm to stupid!!!! No what I actually did was think hmm as our circumstances have changed i'm going to look into this coupon thingy and hey thats what I did for the last week or so I've read various threads on here and other places and know where to get them and how to get them and how to use and not use them. If people are to lazy to put in a little bit of time to find them then to be honest they shouldn't be entitled to them.

    Secret -
    1. Something kept hidden from others or known only to oneself or to a few. - Can the information be found if you look for it YES!
    2. Something that remains beyond understanding or explanation; a mystery. - If you ask anyone on here do they explain YES!

This is the second time that I've seen MSE accusing people of being selfish as they aren't sharing with others, I think if you read the threads you will see genuine people sharing left right and centre.

You are just going to bring out greed in some people and supermarkets are just going to say NO!

this is a very, very bad idea for all the reasons outlined above.

MSE have sunk to a new low with this one, IMO <shakes head>
