Can I have a wee moan about grieving or the loss of my fertility please?
I am lucky mouth to have had three children , now in their twenties but at the start of the meno I was very upset that nature was calling time. I have been a tad obsessed and jealous of tose who can still reproduce. I suppose I never should have allowed my procreation all ability to define me as a person.
It makes me feel old that this part of my life is over.and useless.

Hi Mudgekin, it's been a bumpy ride for a while! I was perimenopausal at 38 and am six years in :o. The hot flushes, memory lapses, tiredness, dry skin - all part of everyday life. And the night sweats are all part of everynight life :rotfl:.

I used to work with a lady who was going through the menopause, and she used to say that it was down to her horror-mones :p

I've developed all that in the last couple of months & now it adds up.

I had my last period in November, just before my radiotherapy for cervical cancer started.

I've been having hot flushes, but they only last about a minute, if that, and they're not too bad. It's a really weird feeling though. It feels like someone is turning up my thermostat!

I'm certainly not missing my periods and the cost of buying tampons and pads and it's great to be finally free of period pains.

Other than the hot flushes, I don't feel any different. I have an occasional emotional wobble, but I'm not sure if that's down to the menopause or the cancer.

Ooooh, count me in please :D

Some top tips on here re my 'dryness of the bits and pieces' - i'm off to the GP to get myself some steroid cream before I finally rake myself to death ! yes, i'm drawing blood too!

I've also realised that starting a new job whilst being menopausal wasn't such a bright move ! .. trying to remember all the new computer systems and people's names etc, frustrating isn't the word !

Alas, the libido has also packed its bags and left the building :-( .. along with the contents of my wardrobe and size 10 jeans

I had presumed it was just a bad case of thrush after taking a mammoth amount of antibiotics for a kidney infection quite recently (also killed the spotty rash on my face, which then came back with a vengance!)

I never had anywhere near these kind of problems when i was a hormonal teenager ! x

It was the hot flushes that drove me mad. Suddenly having this massive heat washing over me and pouring with sweat.

I could be in town in the depths of winter and have to stop and strip off several layers of clothing - going into heated shops was a nightmare!

    It's over now thank God.

I can totally understand you here. Sadly I've never had children and this means that the tiny hope I had has finally gone and I'm just old and shrivelled.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
