Has anyone been billed for this? I'm getting a bit worried as I booked a month ago, the entire family is going on holiday for Xmas and starting to book other things.

I think I'd rather be billed than magically not be billed

I was billed, but only after I phoned them up to enquire why I hadn't been. I also got it for half the "online" price instead of half the "phone" price after phoning up to complain!

I can't remember what the fare was online. Although as I reserved it online, I guess they must have details. Was it a long fight to get the better price or not?

The person on the phone just explained that the offer was for half the phone price. I said I'd reserved a fare online which was not an "O" fare (these are the ones not included from memory) and I couldn't understand why the price was different. After about 5 minutes she put me through to someone in the "web support" department who repriced the fares to half the web fare.
  • Cool - i complained about this offer and the very unclear t's and c's. So they refunded me the difference between what i paid and what 50% off would have been (off the whole thing - fare and taxes)

So the end result - 4 flights to NYC for 514 quid!! ;)

maybe I should write a letter
  • If you are worried about your flight not being ticketed, even though you haven't had the money come out of your credit card yet, go to

    https://www.aa.com/aa/reservation/findReservationAccess.do

and you can pull up details of your reservation - including booking class but not amount paid (as far as I can see).

You can also preselect your seats for your flights! I did this right after booking last week. Now there are no window/aisle seats left on any of my 4 flights. I've also booked a United leg to close an open jaw not served by AA with direct flights and even they allow you to preselect your seats at time of booking. And this is their low cost carrier, TED. Shows the likes of Ryanair and Easyjet up that's for sure! No extra fees for using a counter to check in and two bags can be checked in!
  • Just wanted to bump this incase some can use it! Finishes friday.

Just got my confirmaiton email - 2 weeks after I booked! Flight cost £105, Taxes £175!! total £285. A bog standard LHR-LAX ticket is £345, but I've got two internal flights as well for the money!
