My friends tried to book New York in Sept and it didn't go well. The website wouldn't take the code so they rang AA and were told that they would need to go the the websitte, hold the flights (as you can reserve for 24 hours) and then ring AA and they would check if the flight qualifies for the 50% off.

They rang back and it did, £287 for both of them so they booked.

Then, it goes a bit wrong. They received an email confirming it was £287 per person and rang back AA. They had to fight to get a refund. They were advised that the internet rate did not qualify for the discount and that there were 2 choices.

Book the internet rate @ £575 for 2
    Book the full fare with 50% off = £1130 - £565 = £565 for 2

Hey presto - a £10 saving. Not quite 50% off  The offer wasn't good for their requirements so think carefully before you book.

That's really interesting to read because the offer does not state it covers travel in September at all. Not sure what to make of what happened there but thanks for the heads up.

  • Fantastic!! staff were so helpful and we got 4 flights from Newcastle- Miami in January for £1280.80, thats £320.20 each, which is a huge saving. We booked our seats and were also able to use our BA executive clubcards to gain partner points on these flights.

Does anyone know if I can book Miami with a connection in JFK but stay in New York for the week. So fly to Miami via JFK then back to JFK but stay and not fly straight away to Manchester. Is this possible?

    Hope that makes sense.

What a great deal. I have just booked two tickets Manchester to Acapulco then returning San Juan Costa Rica to Manchester in November. The online price for the same flights was £1455.20 inc Taxes for 2. Booked through this offer for £980.20 inc taxes for 2.I searched many sites but could not beat this price. I came close to it once but with very poor flight times.Have flown with AA before and found them to be good compared with BA and others. Booking was very easy on the phone. No waiting. They gave me an option on the flights for 24 hrs. They knew all about the promotion and even booked our specific seats on each leg of the trip. They were very efficient and friendly. Thanks for a great tip youi_one.

You need to ring the number and ask.
I have just booked Manchester to Acapulco via Chicago and I asked about a stopover in Chicago for a couple of days. They said I could Stopover but the price would go up by £100.00.So I suspect that you will be able to but you may have to fly Manchester to JFK via Boston,if you are prepared to pay extra. You can check out their flight routes at www.americanairlines.com before ringing.

I booked filghts to Orlando @ £250pp (for 8). This was last Wednesday and the money still has not shown as being debited from my egg money account. Should I give it a few more days or ring them? The reseveration shows up on their system and I have picked seats etc and shows the reseveration as being 'ticketed'.

I booked on 14th June, no money been taken yet either. How did you check your reservetion? I tried on AA.com but its not showing as booked. Want to book a cruise so might have to ring them.

Nicki, you should have been given a reservation number when you booked (like eg433a3s) and then you enter that on the site with your full name under 'my reservations'.

Anyone booked after 14 june and had the money debited??
