Hi bob yes although a few exceptions - need to pay nursery fees ASAP have agreed over 3 months with them - the aa and credit union loans have a set repayments schedule so don't have much control over that and given they are almost done ill just be glad to see the back of them;)

I paid off the rbs card cause I just needed the psychological boost of cutting one up:D

Next target card is capital one :mad:which is by far the highest apr, rbs black and mbna are lowest all the other are pretty similar

aiming for £4k paid off by end of the year and ideally would like to just have the rbs black card and mbna by this time next year. - just need to keep focused :-)

No space on one of the lower APR cards, so you could BT?

Nope :( although am hoping that with the rbs one that was paid off they might in a month or two offer a 0% transfer which is why I cut the card up but didn't close the account :D

I hate meal planning the idea of knowing what I'm going to eat all week gets me down sometimes but my grocery shopping and takeaway habit busts my budget every month so needs must.......

Just delurking to say...I'm the same! When I plan meals in advance I never want them at that time, it's always too cold/hot/not what I'm in the mood for :D

My compromise is to keep frozen veg and rice and pasta in stock at all times, then I'll buy discounted chicken/salmon/whatever meat from the supermarket and freeze it (or use it on the day). That way there's always a meal in that doesn't require too much effort. If that does feel like too much effort I just go for beans on toast or soup :rotfl:

Not keeping cash in the house goes a way towards helping too! Takeaway menus go straight in the recycling - if I'm that desperate I'll walk to the takeaway (more effort!) or order online (also more effort!).

How many LBMs does it take? For me, 4 though the first 3 were really just "Let's get a consolidation loan and not use the CCs any more" Like that was really going to happen!

The 4th time, we looked at our debt, looked at our disposable income and wondered why we had so much debt when we were both on decent wages. 18 months later, I'd paid off the £8k+ on my CCs with a lot of MSE-ing.

As for meal planning and having a weekly menu, I have a big cooking session once a fortnight and freeze meals. Then I write a list on the fridge and each day I pick out what to defrost for that evening. Hubby didn't like knowing exactly what he was going to eat every night either so this gets around it.

If you know someone going abroad on holiday soon, I'm sure they'd buy your loose Euros off you.

There's nowt wrong with beans on toast or soup.

Also very cheap and quick is baked potatoes, with beans/cheese/chilli etc.
