Can't decide on a name for my newborn son

  • Weird how so many people seem to use their children's middle names! I'm one of them. DS is Samuel Jonathan, but after 2 days, me & ex-hubby both decided that he just wasn't a Samuel. So he's now known as Jonathan (although I just call him either J or JB - he was JohnBoy as a baby :o ).

    I always wanted another, but so far it looks like just being me & ds for the foreseeable future. He's nearly 9 now, so getting less and less likely that there will be any more.

    BUT, if I did, I like Reuben or Dominic for a boy and Martha for a girl. J says 'when' I have a sister for him, she 'will' be called Saffron Scarlett Evie.

    xx

    my second son was called James Robert and we always teased him by calling him JR or John-boy ( you needed to have been watching tv in the 70s for this to mean anything) funnily enough no one ever shortened his name he has always been James to his friends

    Why is Lief known as Joaquinn? What an odd choice lol (no offence anyone)& wouldn't that make Lief a boy? mine is a girls name lol not even sure where I first heard it.

    I can't tell you anything about Joaquinn as I barely know who he is but I thought you might like a bit of history on the name Lief.

    Basically Lief Erikkson was a Viking explorer (and a he I'm afraid!) and he's credited (although some historians disagree) as actually being the first person to discover America (long before Columbus) they only have vague proof from archaeology and the suchlike which is why it's not as widely known. (That's the problem with the Vikings it's the dark ages - they didn't leave a lot for us to go on - so we have to guess a lot!)

    Hope you found that interesting :-)

    Thanks for that. maybe I should have called one of the boys Lief lol it sounds like a girly name to me though. I did know about Lief Erikkson but more the name than actually anything more so thanks for that :D

    Congratulations on the birth of your grandson. What a fabulous unusual name with a great meaning.

    Don't give it a name. Give it a symbol like Prince had.

    Failing that, call it;

    The baby with no name. :)
