Am watching a programme about Pigeons. kinda interesting. seen lots of places I would like to go.

I never realised pigeons were all over the world. feel a bit silly now. :o

Playing with the gerbils (best pets, easy to tame, very entertaining and dispose of all your junk mail!) without guilt or worry about tomorrow. It is a good feeling.

Although today has been a bust. I felt rotten and went back to bed till about 2? had lunch and am now watching the gerbils have fun. they are so tame. great to see them run around free for a bit. Should do this each day. :o

Was meant to be digging the pond but really did feel odd. anyhow raining now!

so will do some sorting in doors being careful not to step on a gerbil! I love them, they are so funny!

I love gerbils too since I had 2 as a girl. At least they have cute tails not like rats.

A little Review of the list

    1. To pay off 2000 pounds of my debt total

by the 22nd of Oct, doable. That would leave me 3000 pounds in debt, may be possible to pay off by the end of the year? maybe.

    2. Finish the Masters

got to be done, did my action research and now need to spend some time in the library.

    3. To declutter the house

A scary prospect now I am on holiday. Room is back to being a mess got so many gifts from work - lovely but no where to put any of it!

have put gps in new hutch, did that Friday and am digging a pond

    4. To save for a holiday in half term

This is looking unlikely. I may just attempt a couple of nights away.

    5. To add to the deposit fund and to save 500 for Christmas - already have 218 so not so bad.

I can add 50 quid a month to the deposit fund. However 500 quid for Christmas, a little interesting. Originally I belonged to two challenges (plus one I started myself!:o) 365 - a pound a day (should have 208 pounds - have a tenner left!) and the Virtual Sealed pot which is all my odds and sods and that has 218. I was going to use them both for Christmas. It is really just a game I play I guess, so long as I have 500 pounds at Christmas it should work.

An idea - I could use the 218(VSP) to pay for the pond. Ok doing the pond is silly when I am trying to get out of debt. However I have really wanted to do this for such a long time. I am sick of putting stuff off cos of work and now I am free I want a symbol of this. It has cost 221 and so I have the money

Now since I have *used* that money(it came out of my spending money and an overpayment on the CC I made by mistake) I can use the actual 218 for go in to my 365 and keep that up to date - have done that challenge for ages and want to keep it. Then I can restart the VSP.

    6. Spend more time with friends.
This one is here cos of the problems I mentioned with one of my oldest friends. Makes me so sad. Any how am seeing my friends Tuesday and making an effort to make some plans to see other people.

    7. Sort out my money situation in terms of "investments"
I have 100 pounds in zopa and £250 in premium bonds. I still need to check the premium bonds.

    8. Make a plan for living elsewhere

I am seriously investigating caravans! can't afford anything else!

    9. Finish my Tefl course

This is serious! only have 21 days left

    10. Get fit. seriously and sort out my wardrobe.

Wardrobe needs to be done. Today sitting here I can't see how I get the motivation but that might be because thinking about the previous 9 has taken ages and I am hungry!!

Hi Buffy. Hope you don't mind me asking: how long have you been with zopa? What's the return like?
The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of trying zopa too- but would like opinion on it first. TIA

  • Tattycath,

I put 50 quid in initially in april 2012, added another 50 this year, made about a £5!

It is not big money by any means but I think if I could invest more it would be worth it?

Made it to Sainsbugs and have watched a great Episode of Supernatural.

Am pondering many things. As regular readers will know I do this from time to time.

Feeling quite desolate. I feel since work has taken up so much of my time I have seriously neglected friendships and whilst part of me hoped people would be understanding but oh bleurgh can't be bothered to write about it. I feel bad that about sums it up.

I want to be shot of this debt by the end of the year. I could have done before but now it stands at 5000 am a bit !!!!!!ed.

That works out at 33 pounds a day between now and Dec 31st.

my friend - possible new bloke(?) has just e mailed so I will be back later

  • Morning Campers!

Tis raining here and I have my period so that explains the miseries yesterday! Horrible pain today but much better than feeling like my life is over and I am failure! Hormones have a lot to answer for.

Current debt stands at 5100 and will be less by the fourth when all my bills have gone out.

Really spending 776 at the vets plus 170 on the car is why the cc is so high but neither expenses were frivolous or avoidable so tough tits. I could have managed the clothes spending (80ish quid) but I can't really feel bad about that either, I know I needed clothes. These things happen.

I can't afford 33.12 a day which is what I would need I think to be shot of it by the end of the year so I am experimenting (!) with figures.

    £5100

If I make a payment of £10 a day it is only 1552 pounds,

    £310 pounds a month.

To pay off in full by Christmas, I still need £710 a month.

    hmmm.

Don't have that. At least I might have some of it. I won't know till I get paid for the new job.

The thing is the 0% deal is till May 2014? might be longer.

*Really* and *truly* if I sold some stuff on Preloved etc I could make some more money.......ooooofff.

Let's face it today is not the day for such conversations I have my period it is raining and I am only really wanting bed with a hot water bottle. :rotfl:

    catch you all later! xxx

    ok need to go out.

    PS,
Email guy is good, entertaining intelligent and funny. Really like talking to him but he is clearly a take it slow kind of guy not sure what he wants etc - bit like me right now. so am good with that.

    Hi Buffy

Looks like you and me both have been pondering the finances. Hope you feel more upbeat soon. Totally agree with you about hormones! What a pain they are! The root of all evil! Don't rush into anything with the new man. Have a laugh, take it slow. He sounds fab by the way!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Am back - I drove somewhere new today and it was a bit scary.

Am all tired now! had plans but they have become - go to sleep for a bit! Although I need to pick up a homeless Goldfish...... not quite sure what to do with him! but he won't be living in a bowl any longer.
    ....................

    Sometime later.........

Actually just re checked the postcode and he is in a completely different part of London that is too far for me :( am a bit gutted as it was in such a small bowl :( hope he agrees to meet me on the tube somewhere....

Boris Johnson is on TV. He is funny. Scary that he runs London but always entertaining.

    sleepy

    *yawns*

  • So the excitement of payday has arrived.

I moved the 500 pounds back to my savings and pay a whole 5 pounds off the CC. Once my bills have gone out I will pay another 100 off.

Already been paid my extra money this month and have £210 left of that to spend.

Going to Centre Parcs this month and need 42 quid to pay for stuff plus "beer" money.

Am so hungry. wish I could think of something to eat for breakfast that was not a fry up and I liked.

I very much aware that it is Wednesday of the first week and I need to crack on with my stuff to do.

    however, first Breakfast.
