Living on next to nought - is that the key?

The wind winds up the animals, too - my Westie used to hate going out in the wind, it seemed to hurt her ears (it hurts mine too). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Good morning, Greying!
Firstly, so sorry you missed the cakewe did try to keep you both a piece but failed miserably.
Secondly, had we known it was scrapple for tea we would have stayed a little longer, it looks fantasticThank you for the link...
Thirdly, I second theto the weather yesterday. Wasn't it windy...
Today, I was up uber early (as you can probably tell) to take DH to work and it was raining, you know, the horrible mizzling wet stuff. Now, at 7.20 am precisely it is sunny! Long may it continue :T
The breaking news here is that the Sweetie DD's household has (I hope I don't jinx it here) heating and hot water! One gratitude for me today is for sole tradesmen who seem to know exactly what they are doing and don't charge a year's salary to do it. Hoorah! There is some cleaning up to do and a bit of decorating but the worst, it seems, is over. Yay!
I hope your car is well and truly fixed, Greying, and that you have a lovely day.
PS I did try to Salsa but my back gave me gyp:rotfl::rotfl:

I must be in the minority of those who like the wind. I always think of it as blowing away the heaviness there can sometimes be in the air. I too hate the wind. I always say it's because it messes up my hair but if you have seen my hair you know that's a lie  < that's actually what my hair looks like (except not blue). The wind gives me terrible ear infections (or whistles in my hearing aids) not quite sure which annoys me the most?? I've always got a hat on at the slightest chance of wind just in case.
any other kind of weather I don't mind. But wind
exactly

I'm with you INOD - I love a good blow (now now you lot - dirty minds?)
Good thing too as our eventual plan is to live in the Hebrides, and it rarely seems to stop blowing up there! Thankfully I take much the same attitude to my hair as Pippi does - shampoo, conditioner, and a blob of serum when I remember, and it spends most of its time in a ponytail.
I am with Starnac on the hat thing though - while I like the wind, I don't like it howling past my ears!
Scrapple looks tasty. With a few amendments I have all the ingredients in too...Hmmm!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I had to chuckle at this INOD I hope you' don't mind, I know exactly what you mean. The idea of trees and wind in the same place boggles my island infested mind.
I know I live in extreme wind and whilst I do love it - they're aint alot of trees rustling in it here. But I know what you mean.

As EH says I'm a hat/scarf/ponytail/haystack (also NOT blue Starnac) -
Waves to all
For the record I too love the wind INOD, but not what it does to the garden and I'm going to swap one part of windy scotland for another quite soon.
Glutton for punishment me. (and a hat lover.not a fan of a brush)

My cairns (dirty westies if you will (EH MIND OUT THE GUTTER)) are split on the subject.
The older hound despises the wind and won't go out. Um, lovely we live on a windy island. DOH!
The younger one, mental as he is, I'm sure would kite surf if only I'd buy him a suitable suit.

It hurts my lugs something cronic - I wear several hats and look like a cone head.

Just catching up and saying hello. Hope all is well. Wind seems to have dropped (I hate it too - it annoys me like someone poking at you).

Today I was glad about
1) free jazz around the town,
2) finding the church I wanted to visit, even though I thought it would be a 15 minute walk and it took me 40 minutes
3) a sunny evening
4) a beautiful view
5) a super simple dinner of roasted veg with sausages, yum
6) rather more than my fair share of red wine, hick
7) friends in the box
8) an independent nature
9) finally living the life I dreamt ofWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
