OUTSTANDING!! Issue yourself with a :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin award for that one! :rotfl:
Lovely news about the car too.
I concur with Pippi about the island-ic drying weather - "triple pegging" features heavily, and that's just on the small things like socks....
Another one here more about comfort than style - I can't bear the sort of women who seem to think about nothing other than what they look like!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Am I alone in thinking that would be an awful waste of a lemon though????? :rotfl::rotfl: He'll be back in a while, hopefully in a better frame of mind. Dear greying I hope today has been game of at least one good half?
Triple pegs on socks are absolutely essential. But often I'm afraid not enough.

Good Evening :hello:
Well, it sure is lovely to see so many 'callers' on the thread - thanks everso for popping in - you know that you are welcome and that I enjoy your company.
Yes thank you Pippi - the day has been good, and we've rounded it off with a lovely dinner, so all is well at Greying TowersDP did indeed come back in a better frame of mind and we've had a lovely time nattering whilst we 'munched us tea'
I did spend money, so can't claim a NSD, but I am pleased with what I bought, although the grocery budget is all but bust
Still, everything that I got today will go into 2 or more dishes, so it's not like I've bought stuff to waste.
Oh, and the good news is that the lemon juice and zest went into dinner - giving no-one chance to suck on anything!:rotfl:
So we were reckoning that dinner cost about £1 a head, and we were trying to determine how much a restaurant would charge for the same dish. DP thought about £10, and I reckon you would get a smaller portion for that £10. Edit: Purely for my own interest, I've just costed it out and got it to £1.41 per head. So a bit more than I thought, but thank goodness for L*dl :j We honestly felt like we were having a treat eating it;
I've made this Californian Barley Bowl dish before, you may recall that I got it from Heidi Swanson's blog, 101 cookbooks - although Heidi points out that the originator of the dish is Megan Gordon. If you would like a bash at making this dish - I highly recommend it - then you'll find the recipe HERE Oh, and can I just point out that there were more walnut pieces, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in addition to the 3 'halves' in the dish, but I can't spot a one - they must have been shy!
As the sun was shining whilst we were eating, I'm going to claim this as one of my '7 salads' for the monthmuddywhitechicken was talking about opening a bottle of Chablis on Saturday night - a glass would of worked well with this
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
Perspective
New beginnings - and the opportunities they present
For splendid food on a shoestring budget - man, we ate like kings tonight!
Thank you so very much for popping in, reading, chatting amongst yourselves and having a right laugh. Always appreciated. Always.
See y'all later.
