We were waiting for a brochure from someone we knew who had bought an apartment in spain, but it turned out to be really expensive, so think its going to have to be next year. I don't know about you, but I know our eldest is not going to want to come on holiday with us much longer if we wait until we are debt free it might be too late.
  • I know what you mean Zippy - our eldest stopped coming on holiday with us when he was 16 I think. Mind you, the first time we went on holiday on our own without the kids was really strange. It took us a few days to get used ti it being just the two of us.

It was nice when we came home though - DD (then 15) gave me a huge hug and said she missed me (I was really quite choked until she added "It's horrible getting up in the morning and the house is still untidy and the dishes are still waiting for you!" - Naturally I took the fairies that clean the house and do the dishes etc on holiday with me!:rotfl:

  • Well, another one bites the dust - paid T Mobile yesterday :j and that feels good!

Had a letter from HFS this morning telling me that the DD has been referred by the bank and that they are adding on £15 for "adminiatration" charges. So between the bank charges and HFS charges it's just cost me an extra £50    Honestly, sometimes it feels like I'm taking one step forward and three steps back! I hate HFS and they're next on my hit list!!

I'll spend some of tomorrow listing more stuff on ebay and if that sells okay I'll use the money and put it towards the bills for next month.

Managed to stick to my shopping budget today so quite please about that.

    Go get em girl :D

Well done on the shopping budget :T
  • Thanks Zippy,

I have to be honest when I was in Asda I could feel my resolve slipping. It was really only due to the fact that it was hot and really muggy here today that made me whizz round Asda and not linger too long in the aisles or I would have slipped badly - sooo many gorgous cream cakes and chocolate and strawberries and....and...:rotfl:

I'm awful, I wouldn't like to add up how much I spent on junk a month. The guy in front of me last week going through the checkouts had the healthiest trolley of food I had ever seen, I was so embarressed to load my stuff on behind his :o I decided he looked a bit skinny on it though and could do with fattening up :D
  • I used to spend loads on a lot of junk - most of it ended up in the bin believe it or not.

I'm trying really hard to keep a spending diary (for the first couple of days there were a lot of purchases of chocolate:o ) but I'm getting better!

  • I find it amazing when I see some people in the supermarket - I bumped into a woman in Asda's today (literally bumped into her) and her trolley was overflowing - the funny thing was though, she turned to a man behind her who also had a trolley which was half full and started throwing things in his trolley! Two shopping trollies full of food  imagine having to pack it all away in the cupboards though - my kitchen wouldn't hold it all :p
