Hi Hun
Just catching up and checking your ok
Sorry it looks like I missed your diary for a few days, it must have been because you were on in the afternoon. Anyway congratulations on the bank charges :T
The snowball calculator is fab isn't it :T its great to see what a difference a few pounds a month makes to your DFD.
Hope your not working too hard, speak soon

I've not been on here for ages, mainly due to being seconded to another office (had to do an extra week which I was not expecting). Honestly, this is playing havoc with my budget and I'm spending like there's no tomorrow.
I've had extra petrol which I hadn't accounted for (I'll get this back eventually in expenses), but I've also become very lazy about taking a packed lunch and I'm finding myself buying sandwiches for lunch (at £2.85 a go this is just insane  ). I seem to have gone through money like it's going out of fashion these last couple of weeks, added to which my cars beginning to sound a bit dodgy but I'm nursing it along and hoping for the best - it obviously hasn't taken too kindly to having to travel an extra 100 miles a day (much like myself lol). And, because I'm leaving so much earlier in the morning and arriving home fairly late at night, I haven't managed to get anything on ebay - which is really annoying because, according to my snowball calculator I need at least another £50 a week to stay on track...
Ah well, on a more positive note, I get paid on Thursday, so hopefully I'll manage to get back on track and make a concentrated effort to stay on track.
Got quite burnt by the sun yesterday and I'm suffering today....it's the same every year, I never learn....so, seeing as I'm in reasonably early tonight I'm going to haul my poor, sunburnt body off to take some photos of things I want to get on ebay tomorrow.Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
Nope, that's a no brainer...just spent the last hour trying to take photos of stuff i want to put on ebay, but the light is all wrong and the photos are useless so I've given up for the night...I'll hopefully be home early enough tomorrow to sort out the photos.
Spent my time wisely though - I've cooked the beef stew and dumplings that we're having for tea tomorrow night. I'll get DD to peel the potatoes and veg tomorrow and put everything on to cook so, hopefully, when I get in tomorrow night tea will be ready and I'll get a fresh start at the ebay stuff.
I tried to print a letter to Clydesdale about the bank charges that they have refused to give me back but the printer is out of ink and as usual no one at Chez Midnight is owning up to using the last of the ink and not telling me...which leads me to believe that ours is the only house in the country that has an invisible lodger who apparantley takes great pleasure in using the last of the printer ink, tea, coffee, milk, shampoo, toilet rolls etc etc etc...before mysteriously vanishing into the ether
Just had a look at the money situation and a quick glance tells me that I've really overspent this month - I'm feeling to tired, frail and cowardly to actually work out exactly how much I've overspent by - that's another job for tomorrow
Ah, well, onward and upward.Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
Evening hun :hello:
Good to see you back.
:rotfl: think we have a lodger too, pity we can't get some rent off them.
Its hard when you get out of routine isn't it, well done on getting tomorrows tea done early. We had toasted sandwiches tonight because I hadn't prepared something, i enjoyed them, but hubby wasn't impressed
I was thinking today I need to sort my figures, i'm frightened to check our online banking too, money seems to have dissapeared this month
Hope the week goes quickly for you and your car behaves

Hi Zippy,
How are you feeling hun? Glad you enjoyed your toasted sandwiches - your hubby sounds just like mine though - whenever I ask him what he wants for tea he just says "Oh, anything, I don't mind..." but the minute I put down something simple like toasties or pasta he screws up his nose...men huh?
I know what you mean about being frightened to check to bank statements - why is it that some months the money just vanishes?
Hope it works out for you. I'm going to sit down quietly tomorrow if I get a chance and go over everything - this money saving is a full time job, isn't it?
I just feel like if I take my eye off the ball for a second then I'm lost.
Well, I'm off to bed for a (reasonably) early night.
Hope you have a good day tomorrow and I'll maybe catch up with you tomorrow nite.

Thanks for that Zippy. I'll have a good look at it in a minute.
Well, I'm actually home early (hopefully just one more day of these early starts and late finishes) and I've just opened a letter from Scottish Gas saying that they've made a mistake and I owe them an extra £530    I am sooo angry! Honestly, I feel like I'm going one step forward and three steps back. It's not fair that stupid companies can do things like this - if it had been my mistake then I could accept it, but it's their fault!! And to make matters worse the letter was dated Friday, 13 July (definately unlucky for me!!!).
Well, rant over, normal service will resume in a minute. I'm off to have a look at that website Zippy.Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
Yikes at £530, I know its still a pain, but hopefully they will let you pay it off slowly. :grouphug:0

I've spent ages on the phone to Scottish Gas and it's as I thought, they won't budge on the £530 bill, but they will let me pay it off - they originally wanted £16 a week  but I told them to go to hell and they settled for £5 a week.
Get paid tomorrow and I'll have to sit down and work out what I can and can't afford to pay this month. I'll have a go at the snowball calculator as well.
Have had a chat with OH and we've agreed to try to stick to a strict budget this month. I've listed some things on ebay and DD is going to turn out her room so I'll get loads of stuff from her to put on ebay.
I don't really feel like I've made any progress at all this month and I know I've gone mad with the shopping budget but I'm determined that I'll be better for the next four weeks :rolleyes:Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
Okay, feeling a bit wobbly today for some strange reason. Got paid today but the bonus that I was expecting didn't materialise for some strange reason
and that's thrown all my figures out by £150 and I'm just fed up with it all.
Didn't get a chance to go over the debts with a fine tooth comb today like I'd planned, but I'll definately be doing that tomorrow. But even without going into the nitty gritty of it all, I already know that I'm going to be somewhere in the region of about £300 short this month.
I've got some things on ebay and I plan to list more tomorrow night and again at the weekend. I've got boxes of stuff laid aside to do a boot sale - all I need is some decent weather on a Sunday
If I really tighten my belt this month we might just manage but it will be by the skin of our teeth. I've got loads of food in the freezer and store cupboard so I'm not planning to visit the supermarket at all if I can help it.
Ah, well, these things are sent to try us - but why?Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80
