  • Grr keep getting screened out of online surveys.

Going to the pub tonight and will have one drink only - mse plus it is a school night.

On my "fit into frock" challenge I have been doing a bit of exercise every day and my legs definitely feel stronger so that's positive.

Been doing a bit of Tilly Tidying to op pot, just a few pennies here and there.

Sounds like a lovely birthday ...sorry birthday wishes a day late (tunelessly singing happy birthday anyway ..you should be so glad this is visual/screen only and not audio :rotfl:

And great on operation "fit into frock" ...seriously impressed you have kept it up. I usually give up any fitness attempts after about 4 days. (must do better - sigh)

"Fit into frock" not going so well the last couple of days :o, too much eating! Turning over (another) new leaf.

Good mfw news is letter from mortgage company confirming outstanding balance of £72,408 so definitely heading in the right direction. :)

Eta that is 4k in 4 months and I am beyond proud of us!

So while feeling all boosted up from that little bit of maths I am thinking of a goal for 2014... Aim = reduce the capital by £12,000.

Short term goals really help me along the way so the first is to reduce the term by 2 months by the end of February.

Whew get me being all fired up at 3am!! Time to get back to sleep before I do something rash!

  • So...Mr Delta and I were having a talk about it all and we decided to make a lump sum over payment using baby fund money.

I have taken £2000 from baby fund to make an overpayment on the mortgage. Will save us loads more interest than it earns and I have set up a standing order for the remainder that I will need to cover maternity leave (£3250 ish now) to go into baby fund over the next 9 months. As I'm not yet pregnant I have the time to do it that way.

It will save us around £1800 in interest onthe mortgage and has reduced the term by a whopping 6 months! :j

Our daily interest rate is now £9.90 as well - sub ten pounds per day feels good!

So the next few months will just be bits and pieces to the mortgage op pot, whatever we can do over the baby fund and everything else.

If we can shave another few months off over the next year that will be fabulous.

Yay for overpayment! And nice calculating of how you can get your goals/pots filled up. Love that you calculate your daily interest... I am thinking I should do the same as that would be a nice motivator too!

Big move Echo on sinking the baby fund but I think you're right about it - as long as you've worked out how much you'd need to cover your maternity plus a chunk for the inevitable baby expenses then you're better off using the rest to OP I suspect xx
