It would annoy me too but as it's during the daytime you have absolutely no grounds to formally complain about noise-nuisance.

Your only recourse is to appeal to their better nature. If they have one. Perhaps with another neighbour in tow when you pop round.

    I've been Money Tipped!
If you can hear it inside your house then it's too loud. Personally I'd have a word with them and ask if they can turn it down a bit, most people are very reasonable when approached.

I think it really is mountain out of a molehill.

Sorry but it's their garden and its during the day, you can't tell people what they can and cant do on their property.

Now they may be very reasonable and even apologetic if you broach it nicely. But its upto them

I don't think it is, why should anyone have to listen to a neighbours choice of music blasting out and even hear it inside their own home. Lawn mowers and power tools etc make a noise and this is acceptable but what if everyone decided to blast the neibourhood with loud music, the place would be a hell hole . . .

No you can't but some have no consideration for others

Having music playing so loud that you can hear it indoors with the windows shut is very, very inconsiderate indeed. One hopes that these neighbours aren't aware of that and would be ashamed to know that they're causing such a nuisance. But there's only one way to find out.

    Not a formal complaint issue.

How well do you know/get on with them? A friendly chat to let them know so that either

    * they turn it down a notch or two or
    * they agree to turn it off for half an hour when you are expecting viewings

it would annoy me if it was continuous,
I also have sensitive hearing and really do need to live in the middle of nowhere ,

we went to view a house last week and the neighbour at the back sneezed, and it made me jump but at the end of the day its my problem not my neighbours

you could go ask them to turn it down , they may not realise you can hear it inside your house

I once told my neighbour that her wind-chimes drove me crazy , half jest, half serious, she took them down and has never put them back up, I felt bad though and wished I had kept my mouth shut

  • Funny ! i just had this yesterday, came home from work, let the dog out, and the young neighbour (mid 20's) was in her garden blasting her tunes, her and her friends dancing on the decking in bikinis, she shouted over my hedge i hope my music isnt annoying you, to which i replied no its fine, im just in from work and didnt really hear it, my dog starting barking which she does at strangers, then the girl next door proceeded to tell me that she has to listen to my dog barking so i can just deal with her music, which then got pumped up full pelt for 6hours.. ???? One too many wines me thinks.
