Jeferey I am always suprised at how garden centres just don;t water their plants enough. The trays of pansies I got were bone dry so had to be reduced from £3 to 20p as they were a bit droppy but there all fine after being watered. They had loads of plants reduced and all needed a good watering.

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
What a change in the weather. Yesterday by 9 ish I was sat in the garden and my son was planting pansies for me. It was lovely and warm and sunny. But today, what a change, its grey and cloudy, pouring with rain and freezing cold. Have to say though it does save us having to water the new lawn and plants.
Thank goodness we finished the garden apart from needing another bag of bark for the borders. Our neighbours gardener came yesterday and has chopped a tree in her garden down (it was in a bad way) and is going to dig out an overgrown border for her and turf it next week. Seems we have started something. lol.
Hope you have a good weekend guys, albeit a cold one.

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
Well its sunny today but still cold. Got some weed and feed for the back garden (not the new turf) so will try and do that today as we are due rain again tomorrow it should get well watered in. lol.
Still got to tackle the back garden but its just a case of tidying up mostly so not too bad and it will be ready for winter. Green wheelie bin is full already and still got a huge pile of twigs etc to put in for next time (and the time after). Shame its only emptied every 2 weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys

Bargain plants, excellent CW
Lovely day today, been for a 28 mile bike ride then went to a local Country Park for a walk round the lake with DW, FD and dog.
Took DD2 to Uni digs yesterday, 2 car loads of stuff.

Afternoon jeferey and CW. Apologies for being AWOL for a bit. Been somewhat hectic to say the least. Last sun I ran my second half marathon (might have mentioned that before) then on Monday we flew up to Scotland. Spent tues visiting OH parents, then a curry at my SIL and got to meet my gorgeous new nephew. Then Wed we took the train to Oban and the ferry to Mull to spend a few days in a holiday cottage with another SIL and nephew. Totally lucked out with the weather, were sat on a beach on Thursday afternoon in the sun! Had a lovely time eating our way round Tobermoray then travelled back home yesterday. Totally pooped as didn't get home until gone 1030pm last night. Kicked off this morning with a yoga class and now trying to catch up on washing / food shopping and housework before picking up mog tomorrow.
Poor tomato plants suffered from lack of water, not sure whether they can be rescued or not, will go pick what I can from them later and give them another water (gave them a good feed and water last night when I got home). Deff not ready to go back to work tomorrow though.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
Hope your DD2 enjoys her time at Uni, Jeferey. You will miss her.
And kerri, you had a busy but interesting holiday with all that travelling. Well done on running your 2nd half marathon, won;t be long before its a full 26 mile one. Hope your tomato's survive, keep watering them and hope for the best.
It was nice here yesterday and got all my washing dry. Did a bit of tidying of my back garden. Don;t need to water the new lawn as its raining today.

You bet CW! Morning to you and Kerri ( yes, well done on 1/2 marathon
).
Chucked it down here yesterday and wet this morning but stopped at the minute. Forecast not great at all until Friday, oh well I least I don't have to water the allotment! If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Good afternoon kerri and Jeferey
Had to go out early this morning as had an appointment for a blood test just after 8. Then to dentist at lunchtime for a check up. Thank goodness its stayed dry this afternoon (it rained overnight), and its sunny too just a bit cold. At least all this rain means my ds doesn;t have to keep watering the new lawn and the pansies he put in.
Keep thinking every day that we will need the heating on soon.

Evening all! What a miserable old day here now, was so nice earlier then the heavens opened and if I saw Noah floating past in his arc I wouldn't be surprised.
Getting back into the swing of things with work etc, still feel a bit behind with housework etc after being away (not that anyone was here when we were offski, even mog was in the cattery) and prep for the half marathon. Still, will get caught up gradually.
Enjoying doing a bit of autumnal cooking ATM, love this time of year when there's so many interesting veg about. Poor toms are now getting deluged with rain, famine to flood for them. Not sure I'll get any more beans off my runners either as I wasn't here to keep picking them. Some produced some short pods but quite fat seeds so I've dried those for next year to see what will happen, might not bother with toms though, or at least not so many plants, not really the space in the garden for all of them without making it look a mess.
Jeferey, I can 100% say I will never be doing a full marathon, unless this year counts by doing the distance in two halves. 13.1 is quite / more than enough for me and I take my hate off to all those who do the full distance.
Right, off to check dinner.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Sounds like you're keeping busy Kerri, I'll never be doing a marathon either but I've done more than that on my bike! My BIL does Triathlon, that's not for me either :rotfl:
