There's room at mine CW if you don't mind sharing the spare bed with mog? The whale watching was amazing, we got to see and follow three hump backs. You just can't imagine the size of them until you see them close, and even then if they don't fully surface it's like seeing the tip of an iceberg. In true :money: style I saved us $20 each on the booking via a Groupon deal. In fact, it's about the only Groupon apart form a meal out that has been worth it :D

Hope the DIY gets finished soon, personally I hate the in between stage where you're past the excitement of it starting and just have a big mess to deal with before the end. It will be worth it though.

How's your leaky window btw now?

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Everything has been done in a rush kerri. I had a builder coming to give us an estimate (he had done work for us before) and he didn;t turn up when agreed so we phoned and he said he doesn;t know when he can get to us as he has taken on a big job. Well I just didn;t know another builder so rang the man who years ago did some artexing for us who was a plasterer as well. He had retired but said he will come and do all the plastering for us. That gave us just 2 days to get a plumber to take out the radiator and find an electrician to put more sockets in.

We also had to empty the bedroom as needed a new ceiling and put everything downstairs. It was so mad and rushed.

Anyway the ceiling has been done and is drying, lots of cracked and damaged plaster has been repaired and he is going to skim a wall today. He says he will finish today.

So I phoned the decorator last night and he said if he doesn;t start tomorrow (Friday) and work the weekend he wont be free for another month. I haven;t even got paper yet................He can line the ceiling tomorrow but not sure what else and I will have to go and get some paper while he is putting up the lining paper.

Its been so rushed and I will be glad when its done.

Glad its going to be better weather today, will help dry the plaster quicker. lol.

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

The plasterer finished yesterday and we spent hours the bedroom but the whole house seems to be full of fine dust. Everytime we wipe a surface a bit later you can just see a fine powder dust there again. So got to carry on damp wiping everything down today.

Morning CW (you'll get there!) and Kerri (I've never done a Groupon) :D
You were right CW, the weather improved so much we even went to the beach hut owned by the accommodation on Friday morning - gorgeous sunshine, FD really enjoyed rock pooling, we caught 2 crabs!
Back home now and going out for Sunday lunch for DD2's 18th.
Popped up to allotment yesterday evening (DD2 drove!) and got some courgettes. The girls picked some sweet peas for DW :)

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Sounds like you had a lovely break by the sea Jeferey, glad your FD enjoyed seaching among rock pools for crabs. Shame you have to go home if your having a great time.

Congrats to your DD2 on her 18th, did she go out with friends to celebrate as well as lunch with the family. Thats what my 18 year old niece did when she turned 18 a few months ago and her sister did the same when she turned 21 in June.

My ceiling now has lining paper up, yippee. But the plaster still has not dried in one spot, even though its now day 5 so the decorator couldn't do his job and now he can;t come back till Saturday. Its been so damp here everything is slow to dry. Today is supposed to be sunny so hope that dries the last of the plaster.

Morning all! Oh no, sorry it's afternoon.

Sounds like a lovely time by the sea jeferey happy 18th to DD2

Sorry to hear the plaster isn't dry enough to be painted CW hopefully by the weekend it will be, last thing you want is the guy trying to do it anyway and then the paint peeling.

Last day of my long weekend today, boooo, feels like I've had ages off work. Tried to go out for a run yesterday but was way too hot, did the 6-7miles but a lot of walking. Mad with myself. Need to relocate my willpower. Dragging OH out into the garden today to replace a sleeper in the front. I'm sure he's looking forward to it really!

Thanks Kerri and good morning :D
DD1 looked after plants in greenhouse and garden until DD2 got home then DD1 went to Dublin with BF.
My parents looked after allotment while we were away but although visited twice didn't need to water as it had rained quite well!
    Morning CW too :)

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Nice that everyone mucked in to see to your greenhouse and allotment Jeferey, at least nothing died from lack of water while you were away.

Strange weather we are having for August. Rain nearly every day, much colder than usual for August too. My neighbour had the heating on a few days ago foir a while. Rain due here again shortly and for the next few days too.

The plaster is still damp in one place behind the door where a new socket was put in, should be dry by tomorrow (I hope) but the decorator can;t come back till Saturday anyway.

Now to find someone who does fitted wardrobes.

Your lucky having some hot weather kerri. All we get is cool or even cold weather, rain and grey skies with a rare sprinkling of sunshine. lol.

Still on holiday so managed a few hours at allotment this afternoon watering and weeding. Gor a few courgettes, some onions, french beans, peas and a load of potatoes!
Going to cinema tomorrow afternoon with FIL as he fancies watching new Mission Impossible film, he only 83 this month but MIL doesn't want to go lol!
Enjoying another week of work. Don't work too hard Kerri. No rain here CW but sounds like you're nearly sorted in the house. I need to do a feature wallpaper wall in FD's room this week - bit more grown up :)
