Evening all, tomatoes are hanging in there, though looking thirsty again tonight, we just haven't had any of the rain that was forecast.

Enjoy the garden party jeferey - perfect weather for it.

You ok CW? hope we haven't lost you in the heat in a melted puddle. x

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

We had another storm last night, more thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Thanks for asking kerri. I have indeed melted in the heat, it makes my asthma a bit difficult. I don;t sleep well so am tired all day too.

Hope it rains at the allotment but not so hard it damages plants. Next door neighbours tubs got blown over and broke in the storm, they only bought them last week as well.

Its overcast today as might get more rain later but the air is better for breathing.

Sorry to hear about your neighbours tubs CW We finally got some proper rain last night, has cleared the air a bit although still humid - or cat has flaked out on the bed and I don't have the heart to move her (she's not normally allowed on it) OH is suffering with hay fever and tired / grumpy with it poor thing.

hope your allotment is ok jeferey - my beans are growing every day now, won't be long until some are ready to harvest. Tomatoes are flowering too. There's a couple of plants I'm torn between rehoming or getting some more pots for them - they're crowded and need separating but I'm out of plant pots.

    Evening kerri and Jeferey

We had more rain earlier, really threw it down, right on the neighbours garden party (BBQ) you just can;t trust the weather. Thats the 2nd time the weather has spoilt one of their parties.

kerri, we don;t have a cat but we kinda look after 2 cats that live over the road. The owners go to work before 8 every morning and leave the cats out, they don;t even leave them a bowl of water. The cats love us and when my son was cleaning the car yesterday one of them got in the car through the open boot and fell asleep on the back seat. She spent the entire afternooon there (my son had spotted her and left one window wide open so she could get out when she woke up) its was just too hot for kitties in their fur coats, poor little things. The car was nice and cool as it was parked in the shade.

its sunny here now but we are due rain later. Hope I can get my washing dry before it rains.

All this rain is sure making the weeds and plants grow. I cut some down in the front garden a couple of weeks ago and they are as big as before and need pruning again. Flippin hard work and my green bin ends up full to the top every time it needs emptying.

    Have a good day guys

Thanks CW and good morning to you and Kerri :D
Some of DW's relations came to visit yesterday and we went to fish & chip restaurant (lovely!) and then back to our house. The sun came out and we all sat in the garden on the new patio.

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Well I didn;t get my washing dry before it rained yesterday, I had to rush out and bring it back in again as it started to rain hours earlier than forecast.

What do weathermen do for their money, they keep getting the forecast wrong, they said it wouldn;t rain till late afternoon and it rained about 10 ish so hours out.

Got 3 bags of bark from asda for a £10 and wanted to put them in the borders but it flippin rained so it never got done.

Glad your patio got some use Jeferey for your family gathering. Your garden must be looking good now with the new greenhouse etc.

Morning all, been a busy start to the day already, boot camp then a quick (and rare) stop in Waities to grab some bits as I've got a friend coming over for lunch. Just going to do some antipasti type bits with bread. Always feel a bit inferior in Waities - is that silly?

Mixed day yesterday but still warm, chucking it down here now - feels more like the end of summer than the beginning. Hey ho, saves me watering the plants.

Enjoy your patio jeferey my bathroom is virtually done now - tiny beat of sealant to do still just to neaten one bit up, but we're back to being able to use the shower now at last. Right, work time for me - feels like lunchtime already, been awake more of less since 4.40am ...

Weather can't seem to make it's mind up in Sheffield, sun then cloud, then sun, then rain for 2 minutes, followed by sun again! The only redeeming factor is I don't have to water the allotment!

Really pleased with the garden now - it'll definitely get a lot more use this summer :D

Great news too, I won £20 in a greenhouse photo competition from the place I got it from - they are going to use it on their website, facebook etc. :j
