Brrr, chilly here today. Made a start on digging out some old log roll to replace with a sleeper. Dug everything out, sleeper cut but need to get a chunk of mortar off some brickwork to be the sleeper into place...any ideas anyone on that one?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good morning guys
Cold start today and feels very damp as well so quite a miserable day.
Kerri - I can only think of getting a chisel and breaking off the old mortar from the bricks, sorry.

I was thinking chisel too Kerri but depending how big it is an angle grinder would probably do the job a lot quicker - it's just getting hold one one - my neighbour has lots of stuff like that!
I need to defrost our freezer in the utility but it's full too - lots of bags of butternut squash, sweetcorn, raspberries, etc. from the allotment
Afternoon everyoneIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Its in a quite awkward spot so I'm not sure an angle grinder would fit and I don't want to take a lump off the bricks / patio / me! Looks like a chisel job then.
Made a sort of gumbo tonight for dinner with chicken and crayfish - yummy.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good morning everyone
Yesterday turned out nicer than expected as the sun came out for a few hours, just not strong enough to dry the washing I put on the line.
Today is damper, its poured down last night.
going shopping in a bit, will see if Tesco have any bargains, lol.

Good morning guys
I think I have got softer in my old age. I hate the cold weather and its only at the start of winter.
Got a load of reduced stuff in tesco, got Ariel tabs, was £6.50 reduced to £1.60 (cos someone had opened the box and it had to be sellotaped shut) but I had a 90p coupon off it so cheap Ariel for me. Always seem to have washing in the basket so will come in handy.
Also got a load of cereals for 30p to 40p again due to boxes being slightly damaged.
Hope your all well and gearing up for xmas, only 6 weeks left now.

Afternoon all.
Wow they were good bargains CW - don't reduce damaged cartons to that sort of price round here.
Agree with you about the cold weather & even worse when it is wet as well. We had a real downpour this morning as I was driving to a bowls match but it brightened up after lunch.0 -

Same here Red, we barely get 50p off damaged packaging.
Had a real downpour here this morning...while I was in a field at boot camp at 6.30am  apparently i do this kind of stuff because I enjoy it.
Super busy at work atm so not much else going ok - 13hrs on Mon, 12hrs yesterday and just logged off tonight so 11hrs or so today. Hmmm, that appears to be me working hours for the week nearly done
Lovely and clear this afternoon, don't mind the cold when it's nice like that.
How's your chest now CW?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
