oh pigpen - what a great photo - are all the children yours and are you in the photo too? i thought you had bigger boys for some reason

well my house is a tip!! why? because i haven't done much!!! its that simple so i am back to baby steps

i am going to tidy up a bit now as i can't bear to come down with the house looking like it does - but i have done some mystery shopping and put stuff on ebay oh and put stuff in local paper!! so my £500 challenge is ticking along and i LOVE quidco!!

right - happyathome - when you have the secret formula to being a domestic goddess please share it - a month ago i was convinced i did and then it all fell apart - i reckon its possible for almost a week if you start with a tidy house that took you 2 months to get there but after that it all goes to pot!!

    thanks lil_me

i need serious motivation or kicks this week thats for sure

hope maralum is ok - how is she getting on - has she been around lately

    Hiya
Fab piccies pigpen. How is everyone? I've been keeping with the cleaning but have been working every second I can to pay our CC off. Hope to sell my car this week which will make me officially debt free apart from the mortgage. Hopefully get on here a bit more after that. Big hello to everyone.

Lil_me, think about lovely things at your appointment and it'll pass.
    Well done Tinselfairy, that's a level 4!!
Pigpen, fab pics. The little fairy girls are SO cute and what a happy tribe you all look.

I'm off to tidy up a bit too,Scaredycat, and perhaps start the kitchen list. It so badly needs redecorating but it'll have to wait. I'll find out in a few weeks if I can renew my tennancy for another year so any bigger jobs can wait.

    have a lovely evening all.

    Hello All!

Well after my rather busy week we are in the bungalow, house is unpacked and looking good! Popped round to old house today after work to give it a final scrub. So skirting boards, doors window sills etc all clean. Hoovered everywhere (even made DH hoover shed). The only thing I feel sad about leaving is my cooker, stranged but I guess being settled here means this now feels like home.

Have been busy unpacking here but on Friday we (me and littles) painted picket fence around front garden so looks loads better, I mowed lawn and weeded flower bed. Looking pretty good. We even popped to the market and got some bedding plants.

Back on board with the flying tomorrow.

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clean floors
    Level Two
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Declutter mission task
Sort any cupboard, doesn't have to be in the kitchen/dining room, even if it's just for 10 minutes - 2 boxs left in house will sort them (not mentioning the garage full of stuff to be sorted - ssshhhh!)

Dont have seperate dining room as now have lounge/diner so will do that all on lounge day. Have a list of other stuff I want to get sorted as Mum comes to visit on Thursday but at the mo am too frazzled to think straight.

Hugs and positive vibes to those that need them. Hello to all the newbies.

And does anyone know a good way to repel spiders?? Did put a post on the ask anything thread but got no reply. Have converted garden shed into play den for girls but I know the first sign of a spider will have them screaming - any ideas??

One day I'll work out how to be a good housewife and a good mummy - and maybe even a good wife as well - or maybe not!

15yrs this year, 1 stepson, 2 kids and a dog later and I still haven't worked that one out :rotfl:

    Ooooh Pigpen what gorgeous children.

Good luck with the appt Lil-me hope the kids are ok.

Well almost back to normal here. Step-son, 18 now and still lovely, was supposed to go home tomorrow but MIL, who's taking him home, hasn't been to well so it might be tues now. Will be nice to have an extra day with him even though DH works full-time and won't really benefit, but I will as I only work mon/tues ams :rotfl:

I will be trying to keep to the list tomorrow so as we have a through lounge/diner and it's getting vaccumed said step-son will have to move his xbox bits :rotfl: Yes, he's lovely but he's still a typical teenager :rotfl:

    Alrighty!!
Haven't posted much last week. haven't read much either.. don't know why, I was busy i guess.. busy being disorganised again.

Gotta get the house in shape as I've only got two more weeks before the start of a 4 week marathon of working full time.

I had this spontaneous cleaning spree today in the kitchen so that doesn't need doing much to it. And since I don't have a dining room I'll tackle a big part of the living room tomorrow.
the dining table is in the living room so I think I can get away with it. :D

Two of my girls off on school trip tomorow and I've taken the day off of work, to see them off and pick them back up again. That leaves me lots of time during the day for playing with little squirt, and giving my house a good clean.

Next sunday is little squirt's 3rd birthday as well, so the house wants to sparkle for family coming to visit.

    So tomorrow:

    Clean up after breakfast
    Clean toilet
    wipe kitchen
    dust, tidy, clean livingroom
    Hoover,
    mop,
    sort out bookshelf and paperwork.

That's the cleaning part.. lots of other stuff to do as well ofcourse.. :D

Thanks everyone, not a test I have had before so dreading it a little, MRI scans I can handle as had 70 odd of those, nerve and muscle tests where I don't particularly want them, oh what fun.

happyathome hope your little DSs appointment goes well too.

Pigpen, lovely photos, what a lovely looking bunch, the colour of the dresses is lovely isn't it, and those wings, awwww! You can see the boys weren't that impressed having photos took, the two on the right look ready to run as soon as it's took :rotfl:
One day I might be more organised...........

I've been told that putting conkers into a room keeps spiders away.
Wrong time of the year for them at the mo I know.
I love conkers and have a string of them tied up by the back door and another small bowl of them in the lounge. I just love the glossiness if them when they are new! When a friend visited and saw them she told me about the spider thing and since then I've heard it twice more from other sources.
And it does seem to work, don't see many here at all thankfully.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
