Anusol is quite effective
(guess who is a bit bored!)

Bossy - we had slides into pools too
IMO the best way to keep kids safe is treat them how to respect water (especially tides etc) and to teach them to swim well and early. Obviously this is on top of supervision especially where they could slip and bang a head.
Washing on the line is the next job.
I agree with this - it's the slipping/head banging that's a risk with littlies.
I can see my computer desk! Not totally clear, but getting there! I have also done a 'slash-and-burn' attack in the garden. NDNs have (finally) cut the leylandii that the bloke at the back has along the back of both our gardens. They must have gained at least a metre of their garden back; a bit dropped over into mine so I have binned it. *itch* I cut our 'overhang' back every year. I wish they would chop it down - the roots snake up into my compost bins:mad:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Happy Birthday BabyD:bdaycake:FacelessNumber wrote: »Hi everyone :-)
I will be joining next week as my house is starting to resemble a giant kennel (ie full of dog hair) - it doesn't seem to matter how much I hoover it!
And OHs idea of helping is to put mess into 'tidy' piles of mess!! Or to move the mess so it's a bit closer to where it should live but not quite there!
Hopefully this thread and the awesome motivation from everyone on here will help. My plan: Blitz the (whole....gulp) house tomorrow and then try and maintain. Wish me luck and pass the Pimms, I'm going in!!Decluttered husband and DD2 to tennis
Question
Would you be narked if you had cooked and your OH got a takeaway? His excuse was he was in on his own.
Bless him, he's currently scrubbing the bath lift for me.:A My hands are worse than usual today - did something (dunno what) to my thumb yesterday, and ended up with a crepe bandage on my hand overnight, to immobilise it. Seems a bit better today, but I think I need to be extra careful for a day or so.
I ate most of my Frog yesterday; I've filled in all my tax return. I still need to submit it, but I want to read through it again on a day when I haven't been staring at it for two hours, to make sure I've done it right; so I aim to do that Tuesday (Mr LW is wfh Monday so no chance then) and hopefully that'll be that for another year.:T
Ooh - should you hear of a crazy disabled woman in Concrete Cow Country being arrested for murder, it'll be me.... if those twonkers next door start cremating chunks of dead animal right next to the adjoining fence (and incidentally right next to our patio door) again.:mad:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Welcome, FacelessNumber (love the screen name!) You'll like it here; I sympathise re the dog hair - we're a host family for a dog-sitting service, and I get all manner of dog hair. Current guest is a Black Labrador.:o
Thanks!! It's a work related screen name....a bit disillusioned with my job currently. The worst thing about dog hair is it's incredible bounce-backability! You can hoover and hoover and hoover for a whole day and as soon as you sit down you see some more....does it reproduce itself? Does it hide while the hoovers out and then sneak back again afterwards? I don't know but there is an ongoing battle in my house that Murray and Djokovic would be proud of!:o0 -
Hi all x I've been a good girly today so far I have
Finished the ironing! And put it away
2x WM and out on the line (rainbow pegs!)
Scullery scrubbed
Window ledge cleared
Washed up/ dried / put away !!
Dusted LR
Hoovered LR and hall
Mopped scullery floor
Tidied out the utility room
Rubbish out
Dogs out
Beds made
Indoor plants watered
Told DS2 to get DS1's room cleared before he has a fit about the state he's got it in.
Been to the shop
So still to do is
Clear out rabbit
Iron stuff that's on the line
TiPers are not having a good time so far I have 1 who has had 2 hospital visits and 1 who has ended up fighting!
munto5 my OH does that most nights to the point I have given up making him a dinner as he just brings in a takeaway. The only disappointed family member is Mr Mac as he normally gets the dinner in his bowl and he thinks I'm a great cook
Off to clear out Rabbit then I'm on chill mode !I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Oh dear. I think the heat has gotten to DD - she's exhausted and just had a rotten meltdown. Even DS is in a bit of a grump. They are down to undies now, in the cool living room and hopefully she'll have a nap when she's finished her drink...
I'm a bit OMG at all this persistent sunshine! This must be the longest we've had the sun for in Yorkshire in many years!
ETA forecast sun all week here and 32deg next weekend :eek:Bossymoo

I'm fiddling around with paperwork - too hotThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I sympathise with your kids bossy - I'm ironing - and HATING it!
Someone on a local Yorkshire weather forecast last week said this is the hottest summer since 2006! So your kids wouldn't have been alive... Mine (19,21 and 22) are finding it difficult...
If you could rope in some help would you consider a trip to the coast? We always used to go if we could when it was really hot, because once you get to the coast you hit the sea fret and the temperature drops....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I have been out in the garden and picked blackcurrants - there are loads and some are huge. I have trimmed and cleaned them and am about to weigh them - hoping there are enough for a batch of jam! And there are loads left - it's just too hot to keep picking!
Fans have been hauled out of the attic - this means I can iron while I simmer the currants!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I have no idea what that is.
2 chicken legs and a few new potatoes have been deposited down my throat.. Squeak outside supervised by OH who has been told in no uncertain terms that I am NOT sitting outside unless it is less than 18'C and cloudy and he is not to leave her unattended in the water or by the BBQ's ..
Squeak drowned a friend of his mother.. it was quite amusing..
Dot needs kicking out of bed.. but given she was awake almost constantly from 1am I don't think she will be too impressed!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
